Well I killed my processor (and dell is evil)

Heres a little story for ya....
a few days ago I bent the pins on my processor......
yes you can punch me in the face....
Anyway my grave mistake was with taking the heatsink out. I noticed the processor was still connected to the heatsink with the thermal paste. So I was like "meh" (I was cleaning some dust off... why I did so I do not know) So I thought I could simply put it back in....
So I did and turned it on.. and nothing happened.
I checked the processor and found... like 6 bent pins... I was like "...... CRAP!"
I also tried to align them back up... and ended up breaking one...
So I bought a new one off of newegg (same processor, 2.8 ghz intel pentium 4).... 133 bucks down the drain...
And why dell sucks.... their motherboards are proprietary! I'm horribly afraid that the processor will for some reason overheat. And I won't beale to use the given heatsink UNLESS it is the exact same kind. I also have to use the fan stuck on the dell machine... Then again I assume all non-custom brandname computers (dell/gateway/hp) are like that.... bleeeehh
so theres my little story on how I won't beable to play counterstrike for a week
