Digital Cameras: the best deal?

Okay, Im interested in getting a digital camera for the simple reason that I'm not satisfied with the picture quality disposable cameras are giving me. But I'm confused about how much a decent digital camera is.
I saw two different digital cameras for $20. But they're not that cheap are they?!
I don't have to have a digital camera that's going to make me twenty years younger at the press of a button but I want my pictures to be legible too. So, what price range do the best cameras fall under for taking close range pictures?

20 dollar digital camera = DO NOT GET! Decent digital cameras are atLEAST around 200 dollars. Good ones are around 300-500 dollars

I'd say in your case, you should look into the Canon "PowerShot" line of cameras (the A510 model is around $173 online) and the Nikon "CoolPix" models (the 3200 model is around $149.) Both are really good cameras in their price range and are both have gotten good reviews. All digital cameras have MUCH better lenses than the disposibles you've been using, so don't worry about "legibility" being an issue.

You mean the "Multi-cam" ones? Don't even bother with those. They are cheaply made with VERY low-quality lenses (the same as the one-time use ones.) Just remember that technology gets cheaper as time goes by. The same type of cameras that I mentioned were around $1000-1500 a few years ago. So if you have enough patience to wait, these cameras will be so cheap you wouldn't believe it.
