Linux Suse Live + Internet = Weird

Well, i can't connect to the internet while using suse live (off an burned iso on a cd) but Im guessing my usb wireless adapter isn't compatiable or something. Any information on setting up an internet connection? Perhaps ill go buy somethying, like a really long lan cable or some doohicky network card.
