Of a City (poem)

one of my older poems. it was something i pulled off in the middle of the night.

Of a City

I stood on a cliff
Overlooking the great expanse
Of a City,
And I saw many things:

Men who spoke
As though they knew what was speech,
Men who laughed
As though they knew what was laughter,
Men who cried
As though they knew what were tears,
Men who ruled
As though they knew what were leaders,
Men who thought
As though they knew what was wisdom,
Men who prided
As though they knew what was glory,
Men who loved
As though they knew what was love,
Men who were
As though they knew what was being.

I stood there watching,
Then I turned and walked away;
For my eyes could see,
And my ears could hear.

END

btw, do we have to keep all our works in one thread like in the art section or are we allowed to post separately?

Woah... That's a cool idea. I like it.

As for the threads... it seems like some people post in seperate threads, and some post all in one thread. I don't know if there's a rule about it. Mods?

I don't believe there's a rule about it, but since I have so many things I post, I prefer to leave my stuff in one thread. But, heck, I ain't a mod, so...

Very cool!

Very good piece. :) For writing this in the middle of the night, it's definitely very cool. I do that sometimes myself, but unfortunately they don't usually come out as good as yours did. Lol.
