Live A New Way

I glance at where I was before.
Thinking of the fruit that I must restore.
It's probably cold,shriveled,and dry.
Changes are needed,so I must try.
Although I've been hurt in the provoking past.
Life holds more in the future that's vast.
I'm not going to sit here moping around.
There's more to life ahead of me filled with astound.
I don't want to waste my life in useless ways.
I'm going to live for God in all of my days.
I want to live a life that shouts His name.
A light and salt shall I reclaim.
I know that God holds a plan for me.
Time after time I'll begin to see.
I will forgive,forget,and love.
Because I know God does the same above.
All of the past,I'll leave it behind.
I'm never looking back,I'll erase it from my mind.
I'll lay every burden at His feet.
Sin is broken in its defeat.
So I'll learn to smile and laugh in the rain.
There's a fruit in my heart that will remain.
I take a deep breath as I look around.
Freedom and forgiveness is what I've found.
I stare at the horizon ahead of me.
The sun is just rising along the sea.
Colors mix from purple to gold.
I know God's plan will soon unfold.
A smile begins to form in my face.
I feel God's presence and His embrace.
The sun rises higher and prepares a new day.
I'll do the same in my life and live a new way.

I guess I was inspired to write this poem because someone from the church encouraged me to smile more.She said that people could see sorrow in my eyes...as if my emotions are transparent. O.o Really strange because I'm not even depressed.Maybe they misinterpret me because my facial expression is too serious.Anyway I didn't just write this for the sake of people not thinking I'm emo but because I felt that I literally should have a new perspective.It's true that I can be pessimistic sometimes.I really need to change that because I'm a child of God.Here's a little verse to go with the situation.^_^

"I'm sure you heard of him.I'm sure you were taught by him.What you learned was the truth about Jesus.You were taught not to live in the way you used to.You must get rid of your old way in life.That's because it was polluted by longing for things that lead you down the wrong path.You were taught to be made new in your thinking.You were taught to start living a new life.It is created to be good and holy,just as God is." Ephesians 4:21-24 NIV
