The look of victory comes over the slim, but athletic, six foot three, fair-haired haired high school soccer player’s face. He thrusts his fist in the air with one finger pointing up to the clear blue sky; his sign of victory. As he stands at the bottom of the coliseum, he turns up towards the slim, petite, auburn haired girl, and shouts, "Kina! We did it! We did it!"
Sadness sweeps over her face as she realizes what just happened, and of what is to happen, but through it all she acts as happy as can be for him. "That's wonderful, Mokido!" She shouts back.
Mokido runs up the exit of the player's tunnel and goes to the audience stand where Kina is. He runs at her and embraces her in joy. Kina tries her hardest to hold back the many tears that she knows will come soon.
"Now, I can finally go to Spain! I get to have my scholarship! Isn't that wonderful?! My dreams are coming true!" Mokido looks at Kina only to find her wallowing in her tears as they are still in an embrace. He says to her with a comforting smile, "Kina, you're dreams will come true too, you know?"
"Not if you're not here with me, Mokido."
He says nothing. Rather, he is shocked by what she had just said to him, so much that he hasn't let go of her. "Kina, what are you saying?" He says as he prays she doesn't mean what he thinks she means.
She lowers her eyes towards his chest trying to hide her windows to her feelings, her true feelings. Tears fall on her shirt and his as they sway in the hard wind. She finally looks up at him and says, "Mokido," she pauses, "I," she readies herself for it, "I love you." She brings her hand to his face and puts a hand on his arm, which is now touching the only part of her hair that she would dye; a purple dye to be precise. "Mokido, I don't want you to leave me. I don't think I could bear being away from you. I've loved you ever since we were little. I just could never bring myself to tell you."
Mokido has stopped every movement. All expression of happiness and sorrow is gone. He just stands there as a bored statue would. Tears start to form in Kina eyes; he notices this and responds, "Kina," he pauses and sighs, "I'm sorry." He holds her face in his hands, but not as lovers would but as a brother would to comfort a sister. "Kina, I don't," pauses knowing how much it will hurt her, "I don't love you."
Kina wipes away her tears trying to conceal how much pain she's in. "I know, but I had to at least tell you. I mean, I know you could never love me, no one could ever love something so hideous." She lowers her head this time and the tears are not stopping.
He lifts her head up with his index finger. "Kina, it's not that. In fact, you are a very beautiful woman," he pauses as he notices she looks at him bewildered and continues, "yes, a woman. You are a woman now, Kina." She blushes behind her tears, which he tries to wipe away. He continues, "I waited for you to say something all my life, but you just came to slow."
A tall, but not nearly as tall as Mokido but not as short as Kina, dark chocolate haired woman enters their area. She's in a black pinstriped suit and she seemed as though she was waiting for Mokido to be done with something until she caught a glimpse of what was going on. Kina looked at the woman, who just gave her a snooty look.
Mokido notices that Kina's eyes have drifted passed him and he looks behind himself. He says, "Her name is Namika. I've wanted you two to meet." He, with his right arm around Kina, brings her towards Namika, who isn't too pleased to see him doing such a thing.
"So, I take it you're the famous Kina, are you not?" Namika says guessing seeing as how Mokido was holding her.
"I am," Kina replies.
"I've heard so much about you, about how close you are to Mokido," she mocks as she looks at the site of Mokido's arm around Kina. "Having fun trying to steal my Fiancé?"
Kina's red eyes, from crying, are shot straight open. "Fiancé?" She turns at Mokido for some expression that this is all a joke.
Mokido opens his mouth to say something to her but Namika beats him to it.
