What A Friend - Cowboy Bebop fanfic

Okay, here is the first chapter of a Cowboy Bebop fanfic I'm working on. My vision for it is to be an evangelistic fanfic, one that would maybe make a reader want to learn more about salvation. I know some would say that it is too OOC for a Cowboy Bebop character (I won't say which one yet!) to get saved, but I don't find it odd at all. Anyone can get saved no matter what they've done before.

I've purposely tried to keep this fic as PG as possible, but so you know there are two impolite words that start with a B and one cuss word that starts with a D. And, as in the show, the characters do consume alcohol. So if you (and any approval authorities) are okay with that then scroll down to begin! It takes place immediately after the last episode, so of course there are spoilers. And let me know what you think, please?

Hey, that's pretty well written! I can tell you've been writting for a while. I don't really have any other comments, but it is an interesting concept to explore...what happened to everyone else...

The last time I did any serious writing was for a creative writing class in high school. Recently though I've been seized by several stories just waiting to burst out if I could just stay up late enough to get a chance to type them! Unfortunately that doesn't happen often <imagine yawning smilie here>!

Anyway, the reason this story's first chapter came easily to me is that it happened to me (thought not exactly like in the story). When a mutual friend died the person I thought was my best friend actually said to me, "You shouldn't be alone right now," then went off with other buddies to drink his woes away. It was really devastating at the time, and even now, years later, I find myself still a little bitter. So I'm writing a story which will end happier!

Ah, yes. I would be easier to write something like that from such an experience. And yet, I can also understand not wanting to have such an experience in the first place! Well, good luck with your future writings. I do prefer happy endings too. :)
