please read this!

alright, with much confusion i place this small excerpt from one of my large monstrous creations from my mostrous mind. After all my questions about vampires and death...i thought i would risk blasphemy and post this little piece in here. please read this and pelase leave me something to chew on AKA criticism!
At the time, it never struck me as odd that no one knew anything about the town. I was traveling with my brother Black Thorn-explanation about name later-to White Haven when we came across a small town. It was like a hiccup on my radar. It was kind of like something that was big enough to register but not big enough to be noticed. It seemed that there was no danger here though. The odd part was that everyone just seemed to move in a mechanical pattern. Kind of like they were programmed one way and they couldn’t be changed. Black Thorn seemed to be paying no attention to this though. It took a lot to really faze him though. He was like a statue at times. I heard voices and laughter, saw the life in these seemingly lifeless streets and felt the pulse of wards drawn around the town, but somehow it felt as if the place had been invaded by something that wasn’t supposed to exist. I felt it before I even heard it, but I knew it was there waiting. That was why I was a specialist: I had no training to kill vampires, but I knew how to find them, was born with the ability to sense their presence. It was kind of like feeling their life force the way I could sense a human only they were dead and it was their lack of life feeding into the stream that I felt. At first, it was like a phantom feeling that almost wasn’t there. Then it got stronger and then it was like a burning in my chest like heartburn. Black Thorn felt the change and whipped out a switch knife that he had used since he joined the Raes. Even though he couldn’t sense them from far away he, like all hunters, could sense them when they were close like within ward boundaries. Black Thorn knew I had sensed the vampire without looking at me so he stopped the car and stepped out. I did the same.
