I shall begin formulating this story from the 9 different viewpoints from the 9 children so you can know these characters from the beginning. As the story progresses you will see these children change not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. In the end, one will betray them all, leaving the other 8 to save the world.

Uindeille (Wind-el)
Outside my tent flap I gaze at the stars every night. I see them, as no one can see them— the wind moving the clouds invisibly across the full moon. Sometimes I feel that I am the very stars themselves, that somehow I am part of their burning, emanating aura of light; but, that is just a dream.
Soaring up there, in the air, with the birds and the clouds beneath me as I spread my wings is a dream that gives me such an exhilarating thrill that sometimes I feel as if I have done it before. I want to fly up there— to spread my wings and fly, fly away over long forgotten castles, palaces, and kingdoms nestled away in the sky.
My gift is both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes I think it is more curse than blessing. To have such great power at ones fingertips, but then to be unable to use it— thus is my fate, and my burden.
I am afraid to use it: the power that dangles from the chain around my neck. I have yet to place it around my finger, because I fear that once placed it will become one with my flesh and that I shall never be able to remove it. They do say “a life not lived is a living death.â€

TERRON (TARE- ON)
The Cave was cold at night― I remember that there were noises outside the cave; but, I was more afraid of the ones coming from deep within it: Snarls, growls, harsh grinding echoes reverberating across the rough walls of the cave into my small child’s ears. I was petrified every time I heard those sounds.
Mother could never look at me, her own son, squarely in the face. I was always different. I was a brown-hair: that alone set me apart from all the other white-hairs. I liked rocks. I laughed when the earth shook beneath us… I could never be knocked down by the earth-shakes. I was enchanted by stone-work: the construction of the Great Towers. Those towers stretched to the sky up and up and up; but, they used the solid ground to reach the sky.
They blamed me for the accident. They knew I could do “strange things,â€

I have always been afraid of the dark. There is something about that complete void of light that makes me tremble in my very skin. Father said he never wanted a daughter; that he would have much rather have had a boy; but, if he was to have a girl he didn’t want her to be squeamish.
The great Vrakoneer wrote many things in the Bavazaah; but what has stayed with me all these years is the last section of the last Koheer: “When you reach the end of your cycles all becomes darkness around you and there is no light; but, then there is a small prick of light in the distance. The light begins to pull you from the darkness and into it’s light. Within that light will be the door to the Great Silver Moon.â€
