Greeting all lovers of adventure stories,
I am an inspiring writer that hopes to have his first book published this fall. I write a verity of fictional stories that arrange from fantasy to sci-fi to anything in-between. Sometimes my work is a mix of many styles. I will be posting some samples of my writing shortly and I hope you all will enjoy them. Pretty much what I am looking for is feedback on anything I post, testing my audience sort-a-speak. So be honest and tell me what you think of my work. Do I need to change anything? Am I not clear? More descriptions? And anything else you can think of commenting on.
I will post samples from two stories:
1. The Superheroes
The Superheroes is a spoof of all old superhero shows with a mix of anime and other shows.
2. The Legion
The Legion is a more serious Sci-Fi + Fantasy + Mystery. It deals with the adventures of a group of heroes who are trying to stop the evil schemes of a mad scientist.
Well I hope to get some feed back from you all! Let me know if you are interested in reading my stories.
God Bless

Ah, its always good to meet a fellow aspiring writer.
My one failed attempted novel was a detective mystery which ended up as an epic fantasy story with sci-fi elements. I like crossing my genres...but my stories usually tend to be something of a mess.

Sorry your story didn't work out. But you know, any writing is good writing, becuase it help you learn more about how you write and what areas to improve on. So maybe one day your old story will inspire and help you to make another that is even better!
But your stuff sounds like it might be pretty cool, care if I see it?
If you like cross genres then you will like "The Legion"
Here is a brief overview:
When half of The Book of The Legion is stolen Jospeh Warren a young Unknoloigst (The only Unknologist) is called in to become the next Guardian of the Legion. Togther with Gie, Fisto, and May he must stop the evil Professor Mammon before he unleshes the power of "The Legion!"

Hmmmm. Interesting plot. What is Unknology?
Mine was this: a weay detective takes on his last case before retiring and goes to search for a son of a man. When he gets involved in the dealings of a dark scientific organisation they decide to get rid of him by making him part of their experiment - they send him to an another world where science and black magic have mixed. As my hero makes it through one obstacle after the other, in search of the boy, he is pursued by a magician whom he is sure he has seen somewhere before.
As for the reasons I gave it up...I don't want to go into that again, no offense.

Well I hope so. I have never had anything published before, but I am going to try and get it published and on the market this fall. I will have to get it finished first, as well as find a publisher. Since you have been published do you think you have any advice for me?

Advice from one author to another. Never give up on your story you want the publishers to publish. They are extremely picky and want it at a certain time and in certain quanities. Don't forget about the cover art and stuff. Just work hard and never give up, that's my advice. It definitly worked for me, or works for that matter, lol.

I read what you have so far of The Legion. I don't go in here often, so thank FF-chan for the publicity she gave you
ANYway....
I would say that you are off to a good start, though I am hardly a professional writer.
The concept of "Unknology" is interesting. Also, a clever naming, IMO.
Also, you did pretty well at making your character easy to identify with. He's just a guy with a lousy job and no girlfriend. Sympathetic character that a guy like me who works a nobody job in retail can relate to.
So keep it up and keep refining your styles

Thanks FF for the publicity!
ST, thanks for the complement.
Thanks for the advice starwarsboy90.
If any one wants to know,
I learned how to write from reading authors like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Jules Verne, and George MacDonald. Then I practiced writing similarly until I developed my own style. My style isn't completed yet, but with much practice, and good feedback, I will start perfecting my writing abilities.
Thanks everyone for the feedback!
God Bless

I learned to write from Stephen King whom I greatly admire as a writer. I also learned to write from Victor Hugo and CS Lewis and Tolkien helped me get my ideas of fantasy correct.
Mervyn Peake with his Gormenghast trilogy showed me how paint pictures with words and James Dicky showed me that a book did not need dialogue or much of a plot to keep the reader glued the page. I owe a lot to these authors as an attempted author. As for Chesterton, my favourite author, he just showed me how Christian literature can be fun and literate at the same time without being simple allegories.
