Chap. 9
He stood in the battlefield reliving the hell in which he had fought. The sounds of death shrieks and battle cries mixed in a cacophony of horror. Each night he experienced anew all that had happed in the Revolution.
Everyone idolized war as the most glorious path to take, but they were wrong. He was one of them, thinking that he had taken the right course to Destiny. The Shogun wanted to gain power and wealth for his own purposes, while the Emperor – the living god – used his power and wealth to bless the people. This is why Kenshin Himura picked up his sword and became Hitokiri Battosai. But he soon found out it was not all black and white. Many warriors had divided loyalties. Various Samurai lords stood with the Shogun, and others with the Emperor. Some did what they thought was right; while others fought for there own ambition. No matter what the reason, blood was shed. Kenshin wondered what the point of it all was.
He looked down at his hands as they begin to shake. Blood – it was all over his body.
He ran and ran across the dreamscape hoping for relief and forgiveness, then Wham!! Kenshin slammed into a wall; his body went slack. He just lay there hoping for the dream to end.
