Asleep

Postby Nikki_fallingup » Thu Jan 20, 2005 6:07 pm

The sun is setting
The day is done
A heart starts fretting
For the loved one gone

In the darkness
one must yield
In this hopless
crimson field

Oh moon above
for this I plea
bring thee, my love,
home to me

Stumbling, falling
on this weary road
Weeping sobbing
Bearing a heavy load

Awake, awake, my love, and see
The stars above shall give thee wings
To carry thee home, home to He,
He, the maker, creator of all things

Tears of love
Tears of laughter
Hear them from above
For this my happy ever after

Anger....

Postby Nikki_fallingup » Thu Jan 20, 2005 6:11 pm

Why must anger comsume my every thought
Eating away at all my compassion
Controling those emotions that are most dear

It invades my purest passion
Destroys every good
Rules over teh realm of my heart

Anger leads to hate
Hate to destruction
Destruction the road I follow

There is evil all around this world
An evil only One can control
I depend on this One to restore the happiness
To cleanse teh battle fields within
To rescue me from myself

I must lean on the Righteous One
for the peace I do not have

Oh my! So many beautiful poems! :P

I can identify with the feelings you express. Excellent work, all of them.

The words have been pouring out as of late. And I finally sat down and typed them out. I'm so glad you enjoy them.

Wow, Nikki!! I really love "Asleep"; it's awesome!
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

"Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything" (James 1:4)

We must persevere, through the hard ships,

Through the pain of past trials,

Even in times of of doubt or regret,

He is there to pull us through.

We must persevere, for without it, we will be lost,

Being tossed about in the waves of this world,

Drowning in the agony of it's darkness

Fear not, He's here, we must persevere.

You are my loved one,

The one I hold dear,

Together through the darkness,

We will persevere.

Finishing the course,

Growing in Him,

One day, in the future, we shall lack nothing,

But only if we persevere.

We must persevere, through the hardships,

Through the pain, He is there,

We must persevere, for without it, we will be lost,

Through the darkness, with Him, persevere.

This is just something I didn't think about throughly... I just typed... so let me know if something doesn't fit.

Dark of the Present Day

In the darkness of the night you come to me
Entering my dream with things that just shouldn't be
Upon the break of day I wake
Praying my mourning heart won't break

Though the dawn of my agony has come
The burden of my heart has lessoned some
For in the future days of reality
Wrapped in your arms I know I'll be

I cannot fathom the death of day
And to the Father this I pray
Cover my love with holy protection
And sanctify our adoring affection

The day is dark without him near
And Holy Father I pray you'll hear
All the silent hopes and dreams
Granting us the Beloved scene

To him who hold my heart
In agony I know now we part
Knowing one day the tide will turn
And all the evil in hell will burn

Goodbye

Goodbye, to thee in whom I held affection
Good night to the stars that watched over us

Farwell, to what was once a paradise
To thee I bid audure

Sun, Moon and Stars above, watch over the one that once I loved
Keep thee forever in thy mind, that what was once, can be no longer

No sorrow to which I hold
To this, no agony

I have said my partings
No more, is there to say from me

Saving Me Again

Postby Nikki_fallingup » Sun Feb 20, 2005 9:06 pm

When will the hellish desire to die end for me
Will my soul be condemed to this for eternity
Shall the shackels forever remain
To be my earthly bane

How life can be so cruel to the living
How death so appesing
Softly the whispers of death begin to shout
Making me wish from this world I was out

My heart is screaming for an answer from You
My mind, wishing to become renewed
Wash away these thought of pain
Remind me of the light that came

Save me from my broken spirit
Kill the past so I shall not fear it
Nailed to the cross I must see
The life that you gave to save a soul like me

Who am I to take my life
To cut through flesh with a dull knife
What right do I have to think this way
To be lost in my dismay

Softly from above a voice I hear
Gentely, swiftly drawing me near
Once again, my Savior came to me
My Savior came to set me free

*gives stern look*

You know...I know for a fact...that you've just written a beautiful loving poem, or rather I just saw it not long ago....can I vote for that one?

Oh my! How to choose one from all these wonderful poems?

Hmm, I don't have time to look through this entire thread at the moment... would it be possible to make links to each of the poems all in one spot to make choosing one easier? I will come back and vote as soon as I can!

Missing You

Postby Nikki_fallingup » Mon Feb 21, 2005 5:46 pm

Tonight is not the night
For a heart like mine to break
But rather the time for love to take flight
Gliding across the silver lake

The water ripples
The moonlight breaks
A heart cripples
And with each memory softly aches

My love, how I miss your smile
Your cheeks, your lips, you bright blue eyes
The shimmer that stays for just a little while
And being apart from it, is a great demise

Oh to hold you close to me
To have you wrapped in my arms
To keep you you there, my forever plea
Protecting you from all of life's harms

As the wind gently races acrossed the bay
Higher it wields my path
Steady as the light of day
Evading death's dark wrath

Beloved, hear my plea
Turn you eyes not from my withering wings
And closly hold to my memory
For soon, our love a reward will bring

The time we now spend apart
Will multiply the days we together will spend
Through the pangs that loneliness brings to our heart
We can take comfort in knowing that our pain will end

We must wait day after day
Enduring this agony
And because of the pain we pray
Togther, in flight, one day we'll be

Wow, it looks really nice. I voted!

By the way, I was wondering, is this a Christian convention?

Thanks for voting!

No it's not a Christian convention. That's one of the reasons why I'm having trouble picking a poem on my own.

Ok. I was thinking, "if it is Christian, one with a distinctly Christian message might be better...if it is not, maybe something more generic would be better. " Thay are all very good.

What Did I Do To Make You Stop Loving Me?

Postby Nikki_fallingup » Wed Nov 08, 2006 2:18 pm

Here is my recent favorite out of my collection of ponderings.:

What Did I Do To Make You Stop Loving Me?

I am only a child
Weak and unruley
There is no discipline in me
For my father didn't care enough

Look at me, a teenage mother
Broken and used
Alone in this world
How I though he had loved me

Here I stand a beaten wife
Ravished and torn
Feelin degraded and unworthy
What did I do to make him stop loving me?

There He hangs
Pierced and scorned
Bloody from head to toe
Father didn't you love Him?

An answer from above
Screaming down its love
Covering all the pain
With his beloved son

So child, daughter, lover, wife
Turn to Him this very night
Thrust away all the pain
Come to He who will always care
Come to He who loves you still

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A group of friends and I were trying to write a song my freshman year of college and we really didn't get around to it. But the idea of it stuck in my head. Thus one day when I felt inspired enough I gave these verses a try. It works better I think as a poem than a song.
The thoughts on it... So many people out there have come from rough situations, having experienced things that they should never of had to, yet they did. Alot of times we have come away thinking that it's because of something that we've done, or not done, to cause this pain in our life. I know that from my own experience I've become a very bitter and angry person, mainly with myself and towards my own situation, but it applies to eveyone out there that have had trials. For the longest time I hated God with such a passion that I knew that I was going to go to hell for it, even though I confessed, long ago, my sins, just the pure hatred in my heart was enough, or so I thought. God set me free from it when I was in the darkest alley ever. And now everytime I try so hard to throw all the negative energies at his feet and have him help me correct it.
I just hope that maybe, whoever you are reading this, could find a little more of Him for you.
I like the sequence that you have in this poem. I find it particularly interesting that the title is the middle line. I also like how you relate Jesus to our sufferings. Your imagery of screaming down the love in the fifth stanza is intriguing. Good poem.
