15 Love Poems

Postby Angel37 » Mon Aug 07, 2006 6:16 pm

For a writing assignment I had to write 15 love poems based off 15 words that described love to us. So, one by one every day I will post the 15 I wrote, each one about my fiance`. In fact I gave all 15 to him as a Valentine's Day gift. The titles are the words I thought up to describe love....in Japanese! Figure it out if you can!

This poem is one of my favourites.

Poem #1:

Migoto

He comes in his golden aura,
All of springtime attached to his hair.
The sakura flowers blend in with his cheeks.
Like a Greek God he is built,
A war machine, cold, strong, and tender.

With hands so gentle as to mend the dove,
And eyes like a storm within the sea,
Locks of blonde, an air of Caspian,
Full of fantasy and wonder in his stare,
And kisses of cherries, touches of honey.

Surpassing all others in looks and spirit,
Full of God’s great grace and care,
His beauty shines outwardly, radiantly,
Like a portrait whose insides reflect,
All the physical loveliness found in his soul.

Ah, what an eloquent angel is he.

Poem #2

Yarusenai

Without you-
Unable to be comforted
Am I
Without you-
A girl without solace
Am I
Without you-
No person nor thing can bring joy
To me.
Without you,
Disconsolate I be.

Poem #3

Kashaku

In each heart a scream,
A reverberating tone of pain
Echoing off the soul of desecration.

Absolute despair in both parts,
A weeping of torture in both hearts,
He cries out for release.

Unbearable torment of memory,
Unable to save from the evil.
Pure torment in the eyes of the onlooker.

She feels pain, unending sorrow,
He, one with her, feels it twice.
Unable to keep her from bleeding,
Pure love is his own desolation.

Poem #4

Itami

Oh soul of such despairing love!
How my heart does ache for you!
Oh endless nights of loneliness and pain,
Be soon fleeting in the sunlight!

Agony, sweet agony of displacement!
I cry out in desperation,
Oh love, how greatly you grasp my heart,
Squeeze its shell until it cracks.

Every member of my body burns,
Without love’s form to hold it.
My lips grow dusty, red, and chapped
Without love’s kisses to moisten it.

Each inch I move to speak,
Is a gasp of desperate longing.
Each step I take to move,
I stumble without love’s guidance.

I lie here dying from the wound,
Of love’s absence in my life.
Return quickly, for I cannot bear
This feeling of pure agony in my soul.

Poem #5

Tentou

Finally, living has killed me.
The despair and sorrow of life,
Has destroyed all of my being.
I am dead; floating in space.
But wait!-
A light in the darkness!

Such warmth! Sunlight!
Are these arms around me?
And is this the face of an angel
Staring lovingly at me?
Are these kisses the nectar of youth,
Or the caress of my death?

Is this happiness I feel?
Are you my guardian angel?
Have you defeated all sorrow within?
Are you to stay with me forever?
Yes, it’s true!-
My past self has died, it’s in heaven with you!

You have rekindled my soul!
Look, yes, I can fly!
All the bitterness in me,
Disintegrated, disappeared!
Holding you close, I am not alone.
The tears I cried you kissed away.

Everything you touch is golden.
You weave me gates of real pearl.
I am a new spirit, given a new life!
You’ve washed away all that I knew!
Praise God-
I have forever to spend with you!

The clouds are our bed,
The moon is our mirror,
The stars and the sky, coverings.
The sun burns with our love,
The winds sing of our peace.
Never shall I return to the world.

Days, months, years, decades,
All pass in one moment,
One kiss and centuries gone.
My second life, a blessing you gave me!
Ah, my love!-
Heaven is complete in you.

Poem #6

Makai

Eternal flames burning my heart,
Screams of the sinners breaking apart,
Limbs tearing, cracking, split in two,
Such are my feelings when I’m without you.

Mouth splitting and drying,
Satan laughs at my crying,
Holding out water to drop to the ground,
Such is my heart when you’re not around.

The darkness consumes me.
I struggle to break free,
Ruled by my suffering and fear.
Such is my life when you are not here.

The demons take joy in my pain,
While slowly they make me insane.
I rant and I rave as I’m nailed to my tree,
Such are my troubles when you’re not with me.

Very good. very romatic. You have a lot more curage then I. I haven't, posted any of the Love poems that I wrote, but then again they are still hard for me to look at.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

Poem #7, another favourite!

Yorokobi

My lover’s blue eyes have wings.
They pick up my heart in their arms,
And sprout wings of soft feathers,
White as dove’s down,
Strong enough to carry my very thoughts,
Gently lifting the sorrow of past,
Singing as they whisk my emotions away.
They tell me love poems of waterfalls,
Of rage at my displeasure, and joy
Of being my personal chariot.
Elijah was not as lucky as me
My own transport to paradise
Lives in the blue pools of twilight
That stare down at me from
The shining face of my lover,
Who flies me away to high places,
And sings me to sleep in safe havens.

Poem #8

Kyouki

No song can capture my joy
My body does tremble with
Sweet exaltation of he
Who has stolen my sanity.
Oh that I could only dance
But my feet cannot move,
Shocked my his silky touch,
In one movement made weak.
I fear if I should move,
I should fall from delight
My eyes shed tears of intensity,
My heart beats in chaos, frantically
My lungs can no longer partake
Of simple oxygen air,
They crave his sweet breath,
To keep my body alive.
No drug can compare,
Can give me illusions
Like his beautiful figure
And touch, fragrance, speech.
No debate can work me
Into such a wild frenzy
My heart skips and jumps,
And legs wish to collapse.
Rapture unlike before,
Engulfs me in its grasp.

Poem #9

Kyoutenouchi

Explosion of the heart.
Overwhelming desire.
Frantic, nervous
Wild in all movements.
Amazed at this figure
Asking questions
“Why me?” Why not?
God, is this real?
Over whelming desire.
Fulfilled by a single
Kiss.

Poem #10

Shokkingu

The theater is my workshop.
Here I’m drowned by popcorn,
Suffocated by carbonation,
Every face demanding and the same.

Suddenly, amidst a sea of people
All the same, there’s one different.
I know that face and all its joys.
It sparkles and dances for me.

He comes slowly, like a dream,
My blandness no longer exists.
The food and people disappear.
I’m questioning how I feel.

A plethora of emotions,
Longing, joy, fear, confusion,
I look to God for answers
To the madness I feel.

He looks to me in happiness,
Unknowing of my inner torment.
One word and it is over.
He looks stunned, face frozen in time.

He understands no better
Than I who did the speaking.
A kiss that creates fireworks,
And all the people have faces again.

I stand there dazed,
Like a deer on a road,
Hit by the light of love.

No one can guess my heart is jumping,
As they say, “Popcorn, please.”
I look at them incredulous,
And whistle while I work.
He watches me awhile,
Just as taken off guard
As I, by love.

Poem #11- A Personal favourite

Onjou

It is warm as summer,
Humid and sticky, an oven.
In January, our fan’s on.
I lie in a sea of cushions,
Perplexed at the ceiling,
Willing the clock to be still.
A tuft of yellow hair rests beside me,
Up and down, up and down,
It moves in time with my heart.
My hand caresses it,
Running through fields of blonde trees,
Digging into a pale earth.
A sigh fills my ears.
I move a finger slowly
Down his smooth cheek,
To my back the gesture
Is repeated, but slowly.
My sheets are made
On the bed where we lay,
I need no blanket,
And he, no pillow,
For they could not serve
Such a passionate purpose,
As we can do their job
Much better than they.

Poem #12

Gojou

She hated seeing couples,
And being alone.
He hated seeing her
In her loneliness.

She hated how he talked
Without any purpose.
He hated how she never knew,
He talked only so she’d notice.

She hated how his company
Was never to be lacking.
He hated how her company
Was few and far between.

She hated how he saw her
Crying in a back room.
He hated how he couldn’t
Kill who made her cry.

She hated how he always
Knew just how to please her.
He hated how she always
Tried to push away affection.

She hated how she loved him,
Scared that he would hurt her.
He hated how she thought
He was like ‘that other guy’.

She hated how she gave in,
Unable to resist him.
He hated how he kissed her,
Too short to be savored.

She hated how he whispered,
And changed her every being.
He hated how he couldn’t
Change into her prince.

She hated how she never
Realized his love sooner,
And he hated how he never
Spoke up to her sooner.

She hated how he loved her.
She could never repay his kindness.
He hated how she loved him.
He could never fully say his happiness.

Poem #13- This one is a type of French ballad and was very hard to write.

Atsui

Don’t cry my love, I love you.
Your comfort will rest in me.
I shall love no matter what you do.

I am here, your troubles to woo.
I want to set your worries free.
Don’t cry my love, I love you.

I swore to always have my heart be true,
My dear one, can’t you see?
I shall love no matter what you do.

Your tears are many, smiles few.
Throw your cares to the sea
Don’t cry my love, I love you.

Change your wails to a silent coo,
Your safety, let me be.
I shall love no matter what you do.

Your eyes are of the saddest hue,
Yet you’re the world to me.
Don’t cry my love, I love you,
And I shall love no matter what you do.

Poem #14- Let me explain. On the night of our 6 month anniversary, my fiance` returned from an amazing Christian retreat and insisted on washing my feet as a result of his spiritual high and belief that my past troubles were weighing on my heart too much and I needed to be eminded of the love of God. I protested heavily, but nothing gets past Mike. Once he has an idea, he sticks to it. This poem is a description of that night.

Shinjnbukai

Gently, he peels off a stocking.
First one, then the other one,
Black, as the night air,
And soft as his gaze upon me.

Feet bare, I cannot match his stare.
In me something is dying,
Screaming at my unworthiness.
He lifts a large cup of water.

I tell him not to touch me,
I will dirty his soul.
He says, “ Such said the disciple
To Jesus that day.”

I look away, watery-eyed.
He pours warm silk on my feet,
Takes off his own shirt, lovingly
Scrubs and washes and kisses and scrubs.

I cry freely, touched by love.
He tells me such is God’s gift,
That freeing feeling of a cleansed past,
A gesture of a godly love to last,
Forever.

Poem #15- LAST ONE! OH NOES!! *cries*

Katai

He shall tie her ribbon ‘round his arm,
And sing her praises as he marches forth.
She’ll wear his crest upon her breast,
And sing his lonely battle songs.

He’ll raise his sword as he screams her name,
And kill knowing they won’t kill her first.
She will pray for him everyday,
And anxiously await his return.

He was never a fighting soldier man,
Never doused with blood’s metallic smell,
But she convinced him to go to war,
For he loved her too much to sit and stay.

He will strike down every wretched foe,
Because he wishes to defend her name,
And when he comes back, he will see
Her face enlightened with a sweet longing.

It is that dream that will keep him
Up and refusing to die just yet.
Soldier, fight for your lady fair,
She puts her hope in your honoured air.

He’ll fight to protect his love.
