I decided to write the idea I have for a short manga series into a story.
PM me to tell me what you think.
This story is about different people whose lives are changed by a secret war between light and darkness.
Book 1.
Chapter One
As he lay there in the alley, blood pouring through his wound, he coulden't help but wonder what went wrong. He was taking a shortcut home when he was attacked from behind, a sword grazing his side.
From where he lay, he could hear the sound of footsteps from his attacker. Painfully, he tried to see who it was. The attacker was an average sized human male, wearing black cargos and hooded duster. He was carrying a sword that had a terrible glow, but it didn't illuminate the alley. The attacker crouched beside the wounded man. "I never thought I'd finally find one of you."
Clutching his side, the wounded man asked, "What are you talking about?"
The attacker grabbed the man by the throat and slammed him against the brick wall of a building. "Don't play innocent with me. I know what you really are." He let go and let the man drop to the ground, and with his sword, he cut open the man's sleeve, exposing his forearm with a tatoo.
He smiled, "Care to explain this tatoo on your wrist?"
The man growled, "Why are doing this?"
"Simple," the attacker sneered, "You and your kind are in cohorts with our enemy."
The man scowled, "I guess you do know what I am" he said, slowly reaching into the pocket of his of his coat, "but don't think you'll find us." He quickly took is hand from his pocket, and threw a metallic object at the attacker's feet. It sent a bliding light for only three seconds, and the wounded man was gone, dissapeared.
The attacker heard sirens of police cruisers nearing and growled. His prey had escaped, and there was no time to find him. He turned and took off down the alley, away from the approaching sirens.

Chapter Two
Inside the taped off area, crime scene investigators were poking around the alley. Outside the taped area reporters from the different districts of the city were trying to get a picture of the crime scene or trying to recieve comments from the investigators.
In the nearby crime scene van, a man was on the phone with the lead detective.
"There's evdence of a struggle and no body was found. We did find blood at the scene however. We tested the blood and discovered that only one person was either seriously wounded or killed."
The sound of the detective could be heard at the other end of the line, "I see. Did you find anything else Schiffer?"
"Yes we did sir. We found fragments of metal surrounding a scorch mark about 1' in diameter. Judgeing from the size, I'd say that whatever caused the scorch was about 2" in length or shorter."
The detective was silent for a moment. "Have you identified the fragments?"
Schiffer replied, "No sir, but this metal is unlike any I've seen before."
"Tell me."
"Well, this type of metal, it's not stored in our database."
After a few minutes of silence, the detective finally asked, "What about the FBI? I know someone who may know what this metal is."
