I was wondering if anyone has read this manga yet. It's brand new, and AMERICAN! It has some beautiful artwork, but it deals with some touchy issues (muses, a college for the dead, suicide). What's everyone else's opinion on it?

I've not read it. It looked a little dark and--- oh, I don't know. American manga? I don't know. . . that seems odd. I can't really feel like I'm reading manga when the author's name is John Doe. I guess I really feel that way because I've never really seen any american manga that I thought really was upto par with the original product.
I'll with hold my verdict until I see it all.

^yes, it is American, so it is different. Being used to the traditional right to left Japanese manga style, it was a little weird at first trying to read it like a normal book, left to right. And, it was a lot shorter (page-wise) than most other mangas. Other than that, I have no complaints! It really was good--great characters, beautiful artwork, and a compelling story. I can't wait for the second volume, either, Icarus!

What is a muse? And what about this college for the dead? John Doe...where have I heard that before...
Also, I've read many Japanese manga that were written in the normal American style.
