Has anybody Bought/Read Sand Land?

isnt that the latest Akira Toriyama? I'll say that the art is improved a lil compared to DBZ. I only have a few chapters from my shonen jump though. but it does look kinda kool.

I've read almost all of Sandland, but I believe I missed the first issue of it. Here are my thoughts:
I have no theological worries. Hopefully I won't get into that here.
Otherwise, I really didn't like it. I don't mean to say it was bad, but certainly not anything I would buy, even if I was filthy rich. It seems to contain most of the negative elements of DBZ, without the positive ones (such as great characters or great action).
To cover myself, I did enjoy our character of the Sheriff (here I stop to avoid spoilers) and some about his backstory. Other than that, I found Sandland lacking in character development and lacking in good action (either alone is acceptable). Also, I have no complaints about the artwork.

I've read it all in Shonen Jump.

No, it isn't about Satan.
A few demon names such as Lucifer and Beelzibub are borrowed from Christianity but that's about it. Satan however wasn't one of the names that was borrowed...
It has demons in it, yes, but they are treated as fantasy creatures in a fantasy world.
It has no bearing on reality...

I should count how many times I've said this...
The Japanese word here translated as "demon" is actually the word "oni" which would be better translated as "ogre." The beings called demons bear no resemblence to the demons we believe in as Christians. For one, a demon of the Christian variety could shred an oni.
Regardless, there are names that have been traditionally accredited to Satan. However, these are used just as normal names, obviously by someone who doesn't understand Christianity. For example, the main character, Beelzebub, is the Prince of Demons, but his dad is Lucifer. A basic reading of the texts will show you these are two names for Satan. Therefore, we can conclude the names were just being used by someone who found it cool (much as some American authors borrow names from mythology and the like).
