CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

i'm thinking of trying out these series but i have no idea in which order to read them in. if anyone could tell me which comes first, and how long each of the two series are, that would be much appreciated.

Trigun comes before Trigun Maximum, which is not a sequel but a continuation (supposedly, the title change was for certain legal reasons after a magazine change). Trigun itself is only two, thick volumes. Maximum follows with 12+ volumes, 11 of which have been published in the U.S.
