Has anyone ever read this series? I just finished the first volume at my campus library and all I can say is...wow. It's really intense. It takes place just before WWII, and the title comes from the three characters who share the same name--a German-Japanese boy, a Jewish boy (these two meet in Japan, it's actually not as far-fetched as it sounds) and of course Hitler.

Sadly my school does not carry the other volumes. I must have morrrre!

I've read vol 1-3. It's very intense, though there are some interesting interpretations of WWII there.

This is definitely high on my reading list. I'll have to check and see if my bookstore has it.

Be advised there is some graphic violence and some moderate sexual content (It's been awhile since I read it so maybe the sex is worse than I recall)

I've wanted to read it too - I noticed it before I even began reading manga and the general idea sounds fascinating.

I also thought that the idea sounded facsinating. I actually don't like Osamu's (don't hit me!) art but the story sounds interesting.

You aren't alone there (part of the reason I didn't like the recent Metropolis. This was one of his better stories there. Just be advised of the mature content, and some controversial political and moral ideas and revisionist WWII history. If you're OK with that it should be OK
