Gundam Wing Manga

Has anyone here read the Gundam Wing Manga? I watched all the show, but that was a long time ago and I miss it. So since I can't get ahold on the episodes, I figured I'd buy the mangas and read them. I was wondering if there was anything that I should watch out for or something I should be aware of when reading it.

The art for that one is simply gorgeous. I think I may have to contradict my pledge to not buy Gundam manga and get Ecole de Ciel.

Why on earth would you pledge to do that, Osaka? Aside from Gundam Wing (which I enjoyed when I was 12 but not so much after a subsequent re-viewing at 17), most Gundam series' are great.

. . . Because I would probably like it. Then I'd have to buy it. Then, I'd have too much manga I wanted to buy and I'd over spend.
Osaka must pace herself or face being broke year round.

On topic, I think Gundam manga (and anime for that matter) are quite clean overall. Can't rell you specifically, though.

Whoopsie, sorry for getting off track.
Um.
GENERALLY Gundam series' are pretty clean if you don't consider the violence. However, that's where every Gundam series' most major caveat is: they are generally gritty depictions of war. The body counts are usually very, very high. There's probably some mild bad language, and if there is any nudity it will be very mild to nonexistent. Sexual situations are present occasionally, but only implied (i.e. in Gundam Seed). Overall, this should be an okay read for you.

Up to this point I didn't know there were manga versions of the actual Gundam Wing show, so I can't vouch for their quality. If they're anything like the Endless Waltz one, though, they'll be of decent quality, expanded dialogue, disturbingly altered graphics, and...uh...yeah.
I'd get the DVDs, personally, and maybe the mangas of Blind Target and Ground Zero.

If only I could get to a Books-A-Million, or Walldin's (sp?) books, or some other book store that has manga! I would buy it online, but my parents barely let me buy my Full Metal Alchemist manga at the store. Mom doesn't like the covers of some, and neither do I, but she judges all mangas because of the bad covers of some... eh. Sometimes parents can be... well, odd.
Anyway, I would love to buy the dvds, GP, but I don't think my parents would allow it. Any serise I want to see I have to watch it when they put in on television, IF they ever do. So, you can see my problem?
But manga I can do, that is if I can ever get to a book store that sells it...

It seems you're in a bit of a bind, then.
I can't imagine manga that old being anywhere but eBay. Can you purchase there? They've got volumes #2 and #3 right now.

My dad has an acount there, but then I'd have to ask him. I can't see him saying yes either, he doesn't like anime, says its stupid and all. I don't think his oppion would be any different about manga.
I think I remember seeing Gundam Wing in a Books-A-Million and one point, but I don't recall how long ago it was. I'll just look and see. If not, oh well...

Have them order it for you! Seriously, you just ask and they should be happy to get anything in for you. Furthermore, there shouldn't be anything troubling on the cover of a Gundam Manga. Unless, of course, your parents have something against robots. . .

I only own two Gundam Wing manga.
Ground Zero
Blind Target
I prefer the latter artwise but both are pretty devoid of anything offensive, except for some killing (i.e. blood spatters, shootings, ppl dying).
Editing reasons: Bad spelling

I've read ground zero, blind target, episode zero and battlefield of pacifists, and they were all fairly good. Not nearly as entertaining as the series, but the art was pretty and it was very clean stuff. I've been meaning to write a review on these for several weeks now, I've just become rather busy wtih school. ^^;;

Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. What is this Battlefield of the Pacifists? Where does it fit into the timeline? And has anyone read the doujinshi Ground Zero or the two other mangas named G-Unit and Preventer 5?

It's a oneshot; pretty much yet ANOTHER retelling of the events between EW and the series, and not a very good one IMO. It didn't particularly stand out, storywise, and the art was very angular.
And has anyone read the doujinshi Ground Zero
I didn't know it was a doujinshi. Are you talking about the one from Viz? If so, then yes, I have.

I don't exactly remember who brought it stateside, although Viz sounds right. All I know is that it places somewhere between EW and the series and tries to explain some things like the Wing Zero's feathers.
And Ashley, where did you obtain all these mangas? Online or in the real world?

In the real world. I bought Ground Zero as a serialization back in the EARLY days of manga--so I have it in comic book form, not graphic novel, and it was indeed released by Viz. The others are avaliable as graphic novels, now, and probably fairly cheap.

I can't find any but Episode Zero and Blind Target on eBay.

here, or I'm sure you can try to find it at viz.com's store.

Del Ray prices their Gundam Seed manga at $10.95!
