My library is good to me........

Postby Heart of Sword » Thu Oct 07, 2004 7:19 am

I got Inuyasha volumes 1-9 (except for 2 and 7) from the library...I read the first, then later I read the rest of them in one SIT-ting... ( )

*floats away into the clouds*
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Uh. That is so unfair, Heart of Sword. You know how mine is. They're discriminating... discriminating I say. :waah!: :?: :bang: and for good measure :hits_self
Why don't they think of bringin in some good manga.

*bashes head with large heavy object*

The above action is all I can do to display my feelings on this matter.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

My town's library has a few volumes of Sailor Moon and Marmalade Boy. Why is there no shonen? Why?! *Waders off, ranting*

There's a few manga at my local library, too. One volume each of Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, and Blade of the Immortal, plus some Marmalade Boy, Nausicaa, Phoenix, and a few more I can't remember. All in all a good sample selection of shoujo/shonen manga types.

My library has lots of Ranama 1/2, some MARS, some Love Hina, some Yu Yu, and some other titles. They also just started ordering a lot, because they realized that manga is becoming popular. I think it also has some Ghost in the Shell anime stuff.

I am surprised. Very surprised.

I was browsing our library's catalogue, and I discovered they have the first volume of Rurouni Kenshin and the First volume of Fruits Basket is on order. Unbelieveable indeed.

My library has about 2 or 3 volumes of InuYasha, vol. 3 of Marmalade Boy, a Maison Ikkou Volume, 2 volumes of Ceres, and a buttload of Dragonball Z. Yes, I have been there many times. However they're in the process of building a new, huger library in my town so hopefully when that's all done (like... in 2010) they'll have a decent amount of manga XD

^_^ my library has all the volumes of Marmalade Boy, at least some of Inuyasha, Mars, Love Hina (not my choice in manga...^^; ) and I think a few others, the first volume of Trigun...and recently got in 1-5 of Rurouni Kenshin.
^_^ Just read the first, got a notification today that the 2nd volume is being held for me at my library, and I have 3-5 on hold.
I've also been able to get copies of dvds with Trigun (only the first volume, again...I don't get that XD), Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Tortoro, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited away. There might be others, too, but that's what I remember off the top of my head.
New stuff is coming in everyday...I love my library. XD

My library is really good when it comes to comics. They've got all of Rurouni Kenshin, a lot of DB and DBZ, a lot of Osamu Tezuka stuff (w00t!), a lot of Shojo (X/1999, Marmalade Boy, etc.) Not that I like that, lots of the Shonen Jump GNs, Trigun and more! Also, they've got a LOT of american comics as well, so that equally rocks!
