"Clover" by CLAMP

Has anyone read this series? It's called "Clover" and it's a short, 4 number series. This is the only CLAMP I have read (so far~) that 1) I understand the fight scenes, even though there aren't many. 2) I really really like the art.

It's also the only comic book series I read that after I felt like crying after (because the story is so nice but sad at the same time). I found in each page, such emotion.

Did any one know about it?

I attached all four covers, and a sample page. This page is one of my favourite's, the white text in the black says "But your kisses give me wings."

note: these are the covers for french edition, but I am pretty sure they offer this series at TOKYOPOP.

I really wanna read it, I love CLAMP.

CLAMP fan club? I guess I could, even if I don't like them that much except for this one~ ^-^;;

Umm, well, I need to go get the spoiler tag, if you want to know any bad stuff in it. And my books. So if you don't mind spoiler, here you go (even if I tried, I still think they are kindof spoilers... ^-^;;
Oluha, the beautiful black-haired woman, has quite the outfits. They can be just a bit revealing.... 'Clovers' are people with odd, kindof psychic powers. The government are made up of Wizards, which are the highest rank of Magicians in the book (do you play videogame? You know how you can use magicians in your party... here, it's kindof like that. Magicians are a type of soldier.)In fights, blood is lots and it's as if everyone as lots of it. Umm... the love scenes between Kazuhiko and Oluha are kindof "mature" but not really. There are not much of them anyway... I hope I didn't make this series sound bad. O__O It really looks like it... I tried to list all the bad things, I hope it helped!
OK thanks!
Those scenes you mentioned arent all drawn out and showy are they?! Other than that it sounds good ^^
btw yes I do play video games ^^

Oh ok. ^v^

The scenes between Kazuhiko and Oluha, they didn't really bother me, so I think they are fine. Umm... they are kind of short, and they are undetailed.... there are some that show that they did something before but they never show any of that. XD Does that sentence make sence?? I cannot explain it well, I'm so sorry~ >o<;

I've seen the series- the artwork is beautiful! I want to read it though... FYI, its a four part series, and each book is $14.99 (at least at Borders)- and the books are fairly short. (My point is it cost $60 to buy the whole series).

$14.99 ?!! (for me was less!) The books are really short, but the story is just.. it really surprised me how much they could make you think and feel with all that space and short book! The artwork is the only one by CLAMP that I am 100% favor.

There was a reason they were fourteen dollars. The manga was absolutely goregeous. It had a dust sleeve, and it was really high quality. That's why it was so expensive.

Yeah~ If you buy boxed set though, is cheaper. ^v^ The sleeve is really nice, yes!

Does Clover's plot make any sense, or is it just a weird story with beautiful art?

I do like Clamp, though...

I'm very sorry if I couldn't reply to you. I wasn't here. ^-^ I hope it's o.k.

The story makes sense after you read every book. There are still come unsaid things left (because the story was ended prematurely) but most important things are discovered.

^v^ I hope this answers your questions!

It does. Thanks! Is Clover worth it, though? It's expensive O_o.

To be honest it's the only CLAMP comic book I completely enjoyed. ^v^ But I think you should ask more people about the opinion though.

Really? It was the only one you fully enjoyed? Interesting... Is that because most of Clamp's well-known work tends to be innocent, fairly simple shoujo manga? Clover is clearly different than that kind of story, but I happen to like Magic Knight Rayearth and things of that genre.

Even so, I'll be the first to admit that, despite having a strong storyline and likable characters, it's not all that deep.

I think I am just a very hard to please person. >w<;;

Clover had a nice story, amazing art, and the romance wasn't bothering me (was not corny). And they weren't trying to be funny. Very dramatic!

Magic Knights Rayearth was good except at times I was bored and found some scenes too corny... :sweat:

Card Captor Sakura: they abandoned shading. When I first saw it I was very unimpressed with that. It looked so flat and ugly. And yes, too girly! And I didn't understand the fight scenes at all. I liked the television show much better.

Chobits: Even flatter than Card Captor. Not even much backgrounds! It looked so cheap. And too much sexe! The story moved so slowly too!

Their earlier "Boy Superhero" type stories, (for example Clamp School Detectives) I didn't like either. They were so boring for me! I couldn't even finish reading them. Just not my type of thing, I guess! XD (Sorry to anyone who likes any of these...)

Interesting points. I didn't really care for the art of CCS at some points, but the colored manga images are beautiful. I haven't read Chobits so I can't pass any judgement, but it looked fairly simple and over-sexual.

MKR was good though... it had some cliches, but it was entertaining.

It was a huge, unexpected twist, but I think that it worked well. It was melodramatic, however.
