CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Anyone else know this old-school manga from the 80s or something?
There used to be about 5 copies in my library, and i got the out before i even knew what manga was, (it was wierd because you read it back to front;)

Anyway, does anyone know the ending of the serises or what happens in the end because i cant get them anymore.

I can tell you the ending of the first installment, then there's Shin Tekken Chinmi which continues from there, I haven't got to the end yet XD

Basically, in the end of Tekken (Iron Fist) Chinmi, he wins the emperor's martial art tournament while saving the life of the emperor with a few new friends. I don't remember if Shi Fan is already out in the first 5 volumes... but he's basically Chinmi's best friend and they continue their adventures to Shin Tekken Chinmi with another participant of the Emperor's martial art tournament, Tan Tan.

I believe Mave reads it too so correct me if I'm wrong XD It's been a long time and the only volume I got here aren't complete XD

I actually missed the first installments and whatever I'm reading now is "New" Kungfu Boy (yes, that's the name for it in Indonesia at least). I can't give you a good review of what happened at this moment coz I only read bits and pieces of it (random books here and there). I ought to ask my Indonesian friend to summarize it for you (to whom the books belong to). So, yeah I'll get back to you about this with a better answer in my next post.

Right now, I have book 17 of New Kungfu Boy with me and basically, ChinMi, ShieFan and Tantan are fighting on a war boat against some Commander guy called Kaoin who wants to destroy his rival Commander Chao Liu and kill his own teacher, Laksaman Zui In (ack what is Laksamana in English, Ann? General? Captain?)

I've gotta say I love the fighting scenes and characters in this comic series. XD

Laksamana is admiral if I'm not mistaken XD Aaaa, I'm still stuck at the part where Tan Tan is held in the water prison O_o;; I so want to know how he got out... *nudges Mave*

Yeah, Ive only read the 1st series I think.... up to about book 11, but missed books inbetween, (like I never got to read the 1st 1st book) and no shops have them here anymore, so I was wondering if anyone else knew about it.

One Question, Chinmi's girl.......friend (I dont remember her name, hes saved her in like the 2 or 3rd book, and they always meet up every now and again) What happend to her, it was SO obvious they both like each other... did they ever get together?

As of now... no. The girl appears anymore, just once in a while when Chinmi passes by to get to the Dairin Temple XD

What that sucks
Man, I was really rooting that they'd get together and have kids and stuff, when they all grow up... they're only like only 16 anyway right, oh well they have still have time.

Anyway, short description on the new series.

New Kungfu Boy
In the previous "Kung-Fu Boy" series, Chimni became the master of Kempo at Dairin temple, where he trained disciples. When they lose contact with Kyorinji, a temple of the same sect, Chinmi is dispatched to the Kanan Autonomous region to investigate. He tries to enter Kanan with Pushin, a swordmaster whom he met traveling to Kanan. But they are attacked after trying to enter Kanan and pursued by the Border Police who chase them into a waterfall. A fisherman saves them and aids their entrance into Kanan. The people of Kanan are forcibly oppressed by the government. Chinmi befriends the people and makes the big decision to free them with his Kempo. Sorabi Boru, Lieutenant of the Border Police and Jirai, the evil king of Kanan attack Chinmi...



As for how Tantan escaped, I've been told that Tantan fought to survive from drowning for days (exactly how I'm not too sure but it involved him pulling himself up towards to the top of the prison cell to breathe through the cellbars and hanging on there in the cold water for many hours ^^;;;; ).
(EDIT: Tantan managed to break the chains on his feet but could not break the prison cellbars.) Other prisoners from nearby prisons tossed him their food to help him regain strength and yelled words of encouragement whenever the water level resided. My friend told me that he thinks Shie Fan eventually found him and rescued him. Sheesh....this isn't a great explanation, when I find out anything better, I'll post here. ^_^;;;

O_O;;; Poor Tan-Tan!!! Man, I really need to read up on it when I get back to Indo this December XD

I read IronFist Chinmi in year 9 (1998) at my school library. My first encounter with manga. School had four volumes and I read them all before they were never seen again! (they were stolen). I hate it when many good books are stolen from libraries!
