Can anyone validate this? Is it already old news? The site was last updated this June, so I'm guessing the "september (9) issue" is this upcoming september?!

Ok, I'll just blanket this: does anyone have ANY info on this? Any ribonites heard anything?

I saw a set of promotional postcards for Tanemura's new series, so it must be for real. It's called "gentlemen's league" or "gentlemen's club" or sometime like that. I searched around but I can't find an English synopsis-- so that's all I have to offer on the topic.

Wait, then where do all the girls on the postcard set come in?

So, are you sure about that or is it just what you've heard? Gee, I hope that's wrong. . .

Krygee, I hope it doesn't. I don't understand why mangakas throw this kind of crud into their series. MAKES ME MAD!

Well, since we really have no idea about it, it's quite possible that the "boy love" could be like the ones assumed in gundam wing: emphasis on the assumed, and meaning it's not really there, you have to squint and want it to be there to see it. Knowing Tanemura's works, I really really doubt she would stoop to that level. And again, we have little if ANY info on the series, and what we do have is from a pretty unreliable source. But ok, I guess we'll all have to wait and see.

*Mangafantic and Royalwing's brains spontaneously explode.* May this be a lesson to you, boys and girls. Thinking is dangerous.

Hmm. Well, I don't think many secular artist are really above anything when it comes to staying on top of the popular manga list - especially since from a worldly view, shonen-ai isn't that big of a deal. It's not outright porn or even hard core yaoi content, so if it hooks in another percentage of readers who like that sort of thing, what's the problem? That's how I assume the thought process goes anyway ...

While I think Tanemura is a great artist, I've seen many of her works that have a distinct sensuality to them. A well-know picture from KKJ comes to mind ... If I had to pick one side of the line to stand on, I'd have to say that no, I don't think Tanemura is above using elements of boy's love in her stories. Is it even an issue in this new series? Guess we'll all find out soon enough.

Well, I guess I meant she's had such a successful following in the past with her straight couple storylines, she may not feel the need to press it. Plus, her content, treatment of sexual issues and outfits, etc., are fairly conservative, so that leads me to believe she herself doesn't feel the need to walk the edgy line. However, you're right, she is indeed a secular artist (and I know the picture you're thinking of) and certainly not above reproach. Even the most dedicated Tanemura fan *cough me cough* has to admit she could very well disappoint us all.
