I just read the relatively new manga Tsubasa by Clamp. It was one of the best manga I've ever read . i may be the only one who liked it so much and I'd be interested to know what everyone else thought of the is manga.

It does contain some use of magic and magical elements, but these are mild. I enjoyed it so much because of the characters mostly. It brings together many characters from other clamp works. Example: Sakura from , you guessed it, Card Captor Sakura  is a princess. The kingdom of clow is where the story starts out. Sakura basically loses her memory and it is up to Syaoran (I think that might be misspelled :red: ) and two others from other worlds to recover her memory by searching through many other worlds.
I was enthralled for about 2 hrs on my couch lost in this story.

I love Tsubasa. Best Clamp manga ever (I'm a big Clamp fan). I just can't wait to see Rayearth in the next volume.

I like Tsubasa alot, but I'm not sure I'd say it was Clamp's best manga. Well, atleast not yet. I've only read one volume. (I still ike Fruits Basket better ;))

I liked the first volume a lot. It is one of my favorite CLAMP manga, and I really like the art style and how slightly older Syaoran and Sakura look. (Not to mention the cool outfits.) I can't wait for the next volume; I've already translated the bit of vol. 2 in the back of vol. 1, and I can't wait for more! ^__^

I read 'em simultaneously, but you don't really need to read one to understand the other. Though their stories do cross, they're also both unique and not dependent on each other.

So do you have to read Card Captor Sakura to understand Tsubasa?

I finished it yesterday and it's even better than I thought it would be. I really liked Fai, he was sooo funny. xxxHolic is good too I think I probably like it a little bit better than Tsubasa but only because of the witch's mean streak.

This manga's sounding better all the time! But I have a question - what's the language content like?

the only person in the manga that i think could cuss is kurogane, but i still dont remember any...if thats what your asking

Yeah, because there is absolutely no language allowed in our house. Not even what people call "mild". So if there's no swearing so far and none in sight, I might check it out. Or wait until the whole series has been released so I know for certain that there is none whatsoever.

Well, I think Kurogane swears like once in the entire first volume, but maybe not. I wouldn't worry about it though. Most Clamp manga are very clean, even when it comes to language.

It was ok. I didn't like the art style so much, But Fai is sooo cool! I personally like xxxHolic better but Tsubasa was good! I'd collect it if I had the money so that's saying something!

Any manga rated T/Teen/PG-13 has at least mild language, from my personal experience anyway. That said, the ninja Kurogane does use some...

Yeah, there is some language. I remember it. . . . vaguely.*floats away*

Aw man. So much for that manga. Oh well. I'm sure there's something out there. Though finding the "d" word in the Figure 17 manga (which is rated for all ages, supposedly), sure made things seem hopeless.

Tsubasa is one of my favorite manga series, CLAMP or otherwise. I agree that the designs for Sakura and Shaoran are wonderful, and I really like the artwork. It's different than that of CCS but incredible in its own right. I couldn't wait for the next volume to come out in English so I bough Vol.'s 2 and 3 in Japanese. CLAMP is so proficient at storytelling through their art that I was able to follow the storyline to a large degree just through the art. It is great to see all the cameos by CLAMP characters in this series.

I personally prefer Tsubasa to XXXHolic, because it is more fantasy-oriented and a bit more lighthearted (not as dark), two aspects of an anime or manga which I prefer. Of course, those who lean in the more realistic/darker direction (while still retaining some humor) might want to check out XXXHolic as well. I also like the characters in Tsubasa better, especially because it has Sakura. The party of adventurers (Shaoran, Fai, Kurogane, and of couse Mokona) are cool as well.
