I find Tobi somewhat interesting. Other than that, I don't really have much to say.

I've never been quite sure what to make of him. He is probably one of the following:
1) The comic relief Akatsuki member (in which case I don't care)
2) Decently talented and will fight some side character (eh, alright)
3) Working for someone else (which would interest me a lot)

I'm slightly surprised they just let him into Akatsuki. But maybe the real test of membership is how long you stay alive, not getting in. Anyway, that's all I'm likely to ever say about Tobi.

Teehee....I've finally caught a glimpse of the new look Sasuke's sporting. Doesn't that rope get in the way and doesn't he get cold from that exposed chest, that poor boy? But I should be thankful; he could have ended up looking like Sai. LOL

Ok ok, I'll get down on actually reading the manga chapters.

I predict friendship will beat any jutsu in Narutoland by the end of it all. XD

It's approaching a month since I last had cause to post here...

This chapter also seemed pretty short to me. Almost nothing happened, though hopefully this chapter was merely necessary to set up future events (the Akatsuki members have finally dropped off the monk, for example). My current prediction of the chain of events is that the Akatsuki members will come, fight Shikamaru and company, Naruto will finish his jutsu meanwhile, then he'll come in and save the day. That would be the most cliche way to do it, anyway.

Recently Naruto hasn't been that interesting to me. Bleach, on the other hand, has been intriguing. It is too bad CAA isn't as interested in that regard.

Ditto on all counts actually.

I have to wonder if Kishimoto is simply stalling at this point. The plot is moving terribly slowly.

Yes, I think it was mentioned really early on, and if not, there's the Kakashi gaiden.

Yeah, the entire "who trained who" thing has gotten outlined numerous times, though it hasn't been exactly stressed.

As to Naruto's training, I have both positive and negative things to say about this new revelation. On one hand, it's interesting to hear about how the Rasengan is unfinished and this would be a way in which Naruto would surpass the Fourth Hokage (though I don't think one new jutsu should really matter - ninja should be powerful with a variety of skills for different situations). But on the other, I was hoping for an entirely new skill that would increase his options. For example, a massive long-range wind strike.

I was thinking that maybe if Naruto can combine his wind element chakra with his Rasengan, then he might be able to come up with some new jutsus based on his new-found knowledge. But, this is Naruto we're talking about here.

Also,
Hidan's about to open up a can of ownage on Asuma and company. :D
I think I'm beyond caring what Naruto's new jutsu is. It's likely to just be a larger, long-ranged attack or some such anyways. :/

But finally, we get the fights started. Let's hope it stays entertaining without dragging too much (like a certain earlier fight...).

Hm, new people discussing Naruto. I approve.

Ninja Rob wrote:Hidan's about to open up a can of ownage on Asuma and company. :D

You don't need to use spoiler tags here, by the way. Not unless something is so incredibly mind-blowing that someone who hasn't read the chapter yet wouldn't want to know.

I personally hope that the Chuunin exam fake-proctors do something. Not that I like them or particularly care, I just want to see more done with their characters because they've been around for so long. Could Kishimoto actually have had things planned for them from the beginning?

As for Hidan... I'm wondering what his ability is. It had better not be quick healing.

Hatake-Senpai wrote:Hmm.. -- I was under the impression that, perhaps, we would already be familiar with this 'new' technique.

Is there ANY chance Kakashi could be prepping Naruto to use the Fourth's jutsu -- that 'yellow flash' one? Has to do with teleportation, or something of that nature...

I think that the chapter was fairly clear that this was something the Fourth never actually accomplished. Though it would be rather helpful if Naruto mastered the near-teleportation thing, yes. In any case, I certainly hope it takes a different form than the Rasengan.

The new hidan looks kind of freaky. I wonder what technique he is using to be invulnerable?

I don't want any spoilers, so please personal message me if you would like to chat from this thread.

Is there anyone who knows where to buy LEGAL and cheap Naruto Manga in it's original Japanese(apposed to English)?

Thankyou

I've recently been learning that I don't need to be "loud and pushy" to Evangelize; just living it out is enough witness. The problem was that I grew up around strong Evangelists (Korean Christians) and they were really into getting people involved and setting out to Evangelize, and me being a a yes-man (or yes woman) I was into trying to convert people.
I've been learning this lesson over the years, but have been trying to be pushy. Now I'm trying to ease off.

Perhaps I'm reading too quickly and making assumptions, but I think that once he gets someone's blood, all injuries to himself also injures them equally. So there isn't a way to kill him. Except suicide...

I'm not so sure about that. Inevitable deaths in shonen manga are rarely inevitable. I think I would gain respect for the Naruto manga if someone had to actually commit suicide to take out an Akatsuki member (and no, I don't mean just dying in the process of the fight).

He became one of my favorites when he first showed up. But I'm biased toward anybody who has a scythe for a weapon. He's cool either way.

Is Hidan only immortal inside the ritual circle? I can't remember if Hidan was inside his ritual circle when the two members of Team Asuma double-stabbed him. If it's the case, then Shikamaru should have no trouble killing him. I'm also assuming that the entire when-he-should-hurt-himself-he-hurts-Asuma thing only works inside the ritual circle.

Sorry for the lack of comprehensible theory. It's kind of late.

No, I don't think that was incomprehensible. I actually hadn't thought about that idea yet (but I'm not really speculating about Hidan's ability, just sitting back and waiting for more to be revealed). If he's limited to just the circle, the ability isn't nearly as strong as it might otherwise be.

Hopefully the circle has some significance. For example, maybe his ability works only while the circle is intact.

Did anyone else notice how it took Asuma about four pages to decide that he needed to take this opportunity that Shikamaru had so nicely given him by stopping Hidan with his shadow to take a few moments and contemplate how to defeat this new enemy and his werid skills?

And then it took Shikamaru one page to figure out 200 ways to beat the guy?

... xD I just found that amusing. >.>;;;

Rather short "fight," unless Kakuzu is getting ready to do something.

Well, I was wrong about Hidan only being invincible inside the circle. Oh well.

Good, funny chapter. Can't wait until next week's.

For a moment I honestly believed that Hidan was dead. I was waiting for Kakuzu to show his abilities and own everything. Then I remembered that this is Naruto, and no one dies easily.

So it looks as though he has multiple invincibility-based abilities. That's fine with me; he would be a pretty miserable Akatsuki (much less a ninja) if he only had one trick up his sleeve. I was slightly disappointed by Shikamaru's evaluation, though- nothing wrong with it, true, but at the same time the analysis wasn't all that amazing.

Ninja Rob wrote:"Your head's lighter."

I found that funny too.
