Recent Naruto Manga (Chapters 400+)

Post about anime's sister, manga in here. Manga reviews accepted in here as well.

I've never been completely certain about how Orochimaru's regeneration jutsu work. Can he actually recover damage, or was the form that was damaged more or less an artificial one? I've generally interpreted it as armor.

As for the rest of the recent chapter, I have x things to say:
1. Are we going to see Sasuke or not?
2. I'm disappointed in the fact that this fight seems to mostly be huge blasts. There's no skill involved with that.
3. I honestly do not care what Sai's secret mission is.

His current jutsu appears to link with his "snakiness" (i.e., shedding his skin), so I'd say it does seem to be a bit like armor.

1. Are we going to see Sasuke or not?

Who knows? Honestly, I almost thought the hands coming out of Oro's mouth were actually Sasuke's. XD

2. I'm disappointed in the fact that this fight seems to mostly be huge blasts. There's no skill involved with that.

This whole part seems to be just an example of what Naruto can do when he goes really crazy, but yeah, it's getting a bit too DBZ.
I also find it a little two convenient/coincidental that Jiraiya already told him NOT to use this jutsu and just finished speaking of what happens when he goes four-tails. :/

3. I honestly do not care what Sai's secret mission is.

I'm also completely at that point. It's like, "maybe there's some point to this...", but yeah, there's more important things to be getting to here...

Honestly I want naruto to lop of orichimarus head, right there and such. I absolutely hate orochimaru and will be very happy if he dies (i doubt he will though but kabuto is a different story, could naruto possibly chase orochimaru off and they take kabuto prisoner?)

Oh and UC I think no one cares about sai...he seems to be the most blah character to hit the series yet.

I'm wondering what would happen if Naruto loses it completely and goes rampaging through Hidden Grass...

Ooooh... now THAT would be a nice twist, MasterDias. We'd probably then have Naruto going off on the run, with the entire village after him (save those that actually know him), then have run into Akatsuki sometime... hmm...

One thing I do like: Akatsuki members seem able to consistantly defeat other shinobi linked to spirits. Skill does triumph over raw power sometimes.

That's the thing about flashbacks, though I'll admit the use isn't exactly subtle.

I'm sure that someone, somewhere cares, but I haven't seen them yet.

No, no, I want to see Naruto go insane and start slaughtering people. Then we'll switch to Sasuke's point of view and he has to go after Naruto to try to make him good again...

I also wonder how long it will be before Kishimoto pulls another fighting tournament arc out of somewhere. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if that happens actually...

But then they'd have to change the title! (jk)
But yeah, that'd be an interesting twist as well.

Another tournament, you say? Hadn't thought of that, thought it seems that many a Shonen manga has gone that way towards its end (would make my thought of another "Naruto vs. Sasuke" fight make a little more sense...).

Is there much more to Yu Yu Hakusho than tournaments? I haven't seen all of it, but that's the impression I've gotten from everything I have seen.

MasterDias wrote:I also wonder how long it will be before Kishimoto pulls another fighting tournament arc out of somewhere.

Naruto does have to become a Chuunin, yet. Still, doing that would require making up an entire generation of shinobi or doing odd things with the plot. Actually, how is it possible that Sakura is a Chuunin if her team is incomplete?

I had assumed that she got put into another team to take the exam(with Ino and Chouji, perhaps?).

Ditto. Plus, she was trained by the Hokage, so Tsunade could probably let her bypass that if she wanted...

Kyuubi-Naruto... creepy. o.o
Kinda seems like they could have gone through with this a little quicker... or maybe it's just that I wanna see K.Naruto go crazy on something/somebody already. :p

Are you talking about 293 or 294? Regarding the first, I must say that the transformation was rather disturbing but the resulting form was underwhelming. Something about the 4-Tails Naruto seems like a toy to me. It didn't do a great deal in the latter chapter, either. The fact that it bashed Orochimaru in half could have been cool, but was presented oddly (and didn't do any good).

I should also say that I am becoming annoyed with Orochimaru - he should do something already. Yes, Kishimoto, we've gotten the fact that he has creepy jutsu, can we move on? At this point I care less about this than about if Kabuto is going to fight.

Yeah, I feel more like giving Naruto-Kyuubi a hug than being impressed by his "awesome power". >.>

Can we just have someone DIE already or something?! It just took too long to actually get to this, and after all that, what more can he do (unless he does indeed run back to terrorize the village...).

The only point about which I'm curious enough to speculate is how many tails we'll eventually see Naruto have. If four does this much to him, what would five do, especially considering that the amount of power between tails appears exponential? I really hope that we don't see all nine; that's far too predictable. In my mind, nine would be the fox demon completely free and eight would be closer to Gaara while unconscious. My true hope is that Naruto finds a way to channel this power instead of having it manifest itself, and the series would return to normal fighting.

Current Chapter:

-Explaining stuff
-Oro gets OWN'd
-Oro pulls out wierd Jutsu
-Naruto gets OWN'd

The end.

Okay, I must say the Kyuubi form IS rather interesting, but I'd like to know where we're suppose to go from here.

You know.... I'm slightly (un)impressed by how Masashi Kishimoto successfully writes a chapter, make you think you're reading something, but in the end you're pretty much still where you started.

I hope I don't do that when I get around to writing. Thats my goal in life anyway.

Ya know I have to wonder were did all the creative Naruto fighting went.

Did Kishimoto simply run outta Ideas...Or Hopefully, Hes thinking of really awesome ideas and is giving himself time with all of these annoying DBZ like battles.

On Another Note. Is it just me or would anyone else like to read an entire arc all about Shino, Kiba, And Hinata?

Sure. Mainly because I don't want to see Naruto or Sakura any more, partially because I'd like to see whatever new skills Shino and Hinata may possess.

Yeito wrote:You know.... I'm slightly (un)impressed by how Masashi Kishimoto successfully writes a chapter, make you think you're reading something, but in the end you're pretty much still where you started.

My observation is that this practice is on the rise. It makes for a longer series without having to use more ideas. But you're definitely right: think about what has actually happened in the previous chapters. Not much.

Now, a question: who else can't take the black sphere technique very seriously? I liked the presentation of it (the way Orochimaru calmly says "Now that could be dangerous" is good) but then it spends quite a few pages just hovering, the shrinking, then getting eaten, then being spit out... I simply didn't care anymore by the time it actually launched.

Ditto. Cool at first (and him actually eating it was kinda cool), then he grew and spat it out, so it was like, "You could have done that alot faster...".

And yes, I want to see more of the other characters already.

---chapter 296-----

...... well what are they supposed to do now?

:: oro randomly pukes up another of himself:: "Well better go get a new body! See you later!"
::dude puts leash on naruto:: "Oh hey naruto you ok now?"
"Oh sure let me go get some ramen and we'll pick up where we left off!"

<_<### Sheesh. Semi-anticlimactic for anyone else?

This strongly reminds me of the Kakashi vs "Itachi" fight (as well as Gai's). It occured in the story but didn't really accomplish anything. It is reaching the point where every time there is a fight I hope someone dies, simply because that means the storyline will develop.

On the plus side: though we'll probably see more of Sai in the next few issues, it's highly likely we won't see a great deal of him after that. And perhaps now we'll see where Kishimoto was going with this new character.

The Gai and Kakashi fights had a point (the Akatsuki were holding them off long enough to finish the removal of Gaara's Bijuu), but we had now just seems... pointless. They only reasoning for it was to show off the Kyuubi form (which could have been done in a hundred better ways).

The Kyuubi seemed to own that shield Oro put up pretty much :P

I wish the Kyuubi had just finished of Oro there...He probably would, hadn't the team leader put that thingie on Naruto :(

Quite so, and hence, link clipped. I'd imagine most of us were aware of the site, but there are actually better methods.

Myoti wrote:The Gai and Kakashi fights had a point (the Akatsuki were holding them off long enough to finish the removal of Gaara's Bijuu), but we had now just seems... pointless. They only reasoning for it was to show off the Kyuubi form (which could have been done in a hundred better ways).

This fight had a point in a similar sense: resolving the issue of the spy, revealing Sai's mission, and giving background info on the new Jounin. I suppose it would be better for me to state that the fights were poor use of time: the Gai and Kakashi fights took several issues a piece, for something that could have been easily taken out or done in less space. It makes the readers think that major fights are actually taking place, then makes them in the end kill only characters that were just introduced. Things are essentially exactly where they were before.

dreamhacker wrote:I wish the Kyuubi had just finished of Oro there...He probably would, hadn't the team leader put that thingie on Naruto

On the other hand, Orochimaru didn't really do anything. He tried a few half-hearted attacks, then up and decided to leave.
