Recent Naruto Manga (Chapters 400+)

Post about anime's sister, manga in here. Manga reviews accepted in here as well.

Knowing how most shonen manga will draw out... it's likely that the series will end (or at least end without a closing footnote) while the genin are still their teens (give or take another year in the story). Since it's important in some cases to not change a character readers been identifying with so long. Like the 30+ books of Ranma 1/2 where they only aged a year. Or even the 45+ of Meitantei Conan... and it seems only a year passed as well.

I don't think the end is coming anytime soon for Naruto. Unless it does a 'DBZ' and continue until Naruto's son and even grandson. Haha.

For now, I'm really looking forward to see the 'training arc' for the genins. It's a welcome break before going headlong into another fighting arc with Akatsuki and maybe even Orochimaru.

That would actually be interesting to see.... I actually wouldn't mind that. As long as Naruto married someone like Hinata, that is. ;)

Yes, I DEMAND Kakashi to be explored before the whole series wraps up.

Chap 236 was great. Go Sakura and Tsunade! I'm rooting for Sakura like crazy now! Say, does that mean Sakura will become a medic ninja?

Not necessarily. I think Kabuto and Tsunde prove that medical shinobi can still be dangerous warriors, though. I'll read this chapter momentarily and provide a commentary in this post...

I do hope you're not rooting for a Gaara/Lee pairing! (Shikamaru/Temari would be interesting, though - especially with them being from different villages. Ooh, romance and politics, a perfect combination. The drama! The intrigue! The potential plotlines!)

I meant the seeming friendship/bond Gaara and Lee have formed. The word relationship does not always equal romance.

Ditto that.

Chapter 236: For a person who holds a super high position (the hokage), Tsunade's office seems to have an very 'open door' policy. You would think that the hokage would be so busy that they wouldn't have time to meet genin or ppl of lower ranking. Sakura looks like she just walked into the office without making some appointment or having to go through all the bureacracy. You know how difficult it is to just meet the U.S president face to face. (no politics here, just using this as an analogy).

Just a useless random thought. *shrug*

Well, the Third was somewhat accessible as well. I would think that there are always ANBU or other such in the shadows/off-frame/outside windows/on roofs ready to act if the Hokage is harmed--cutting down the security measure/screening thing. And seeing how most ninjas are off on missions, maybe Tsunade really is with some extra time on her hands. At least enough to have Sakura waltz in without having to make an appointment.

But of course, I honestly think it's just so Kishimoto can squeeze the plot in so-so pages. XD XD

I think that it seems the Hokage doesn't actually have that much to do. And safety isn't really an issue, because they are the most powerful ninja in the village, after all. Considering that we have no firearms, what would such a champion have to fear? Also, the village seems generally tight and small... how would an enemy ninja get that far inside when basically everyone can fight?

Though I agree that it's really just there for plot convenience.

Interesting to see Jiraiya's slightly angsty, flashback-ish side. To be expected, I suppose, what with the recent circumstances and talking to Naruto and all, but I still liked it.

I want it to get back to Sakura and Tsunade, though!

3 years of training... it's '3-years-of-training-for-the-android-attacks' in DBZ all over again XD The next chapter seems to be another Naruto and Jiraiya chapter though... And I wouldn't be surprised if the whole 3 years of training is another arc like the Godaime arc.

Well, I personally hope Kishimoto will fast-foward the years so there's more surprise for us just how strong the genin will become (that and so we don't have to wait through 'training' chapters). And if he really does write out the 3 years with no interuption then my guess was wrong about the genin hardly aging till the end of the series XD Gaaah! I can't imagine them being 14-16!!!

I'm not sure whether I want to see those three years or not. One thing I am completely certain of: I do not want those three years to take approximately one panel. However, it would be cool to just see them again, all three years older. Jiraiya will train Naruto, Tsunde will train Sakura and Sasuke will presumably find some way to become significantly stronger.

Three years can significantly change a person. This should be interesting. Also, blurring three years would make it vaguely possible for the series to end with Naruto becoming Hokage.

I do want to see some training with Naruto/Jiraiya and Sakura/Tsunade, but I don't want a really long arc. However, I would highly enjoy a time-jump later on... as long as Kishimoto doesn't use DBZ-like time jumps from now on.

The possibilities are endless. This new arc looks promising.

Maybe the training will be parallel to the story - so he can occasionally dip out of a chapter or a mission, without leaving the plot. And it could be used to show a continued rivalry with Sasuke even though they're now separated geographically.

Kishimoto never really struck me as one who used instant time jumps considering everyone has remained basically the same age for 26/27 volumes, but the chapter did seem to hint of some sort of time jump somewhere in the future since neither the Akatsuki nor Orochimaru appear to be able to execute their main plans for at least 3 years.

Ah, well...
We will see where this goes. I don't want a time jump that only lasts one panel either.

Sorry if I missed something completely obvious, but why do the Akatsuki have to wait three years? I get Orochimaru's whole new-body thing, but what's keeping the Akatsuki from moving?

All these jutsus, they are powerful, undefeatable, overwhelming but.....

they have to wait for 3 years! hahahaha I'm sorry, I found that amusing for some strange reason. ^_^;;; It's quite convenient to give our genin time to mature and get stronger. Hey, bring back Tsunade and Sakura! We need more limelight on the ladies.

I don't think I contributed anything of substance in this post but oh well...

Well, according to Jiraiya's info network, the Akatsuki won't go after Naruto for at least 3 or 4 years. Why? Jiraiya didn't know or didn't say.

I think that's what we want to know. It's a tad too convenient for everyone to be in a position where they can't do anything for three years on the nose.

For Orochimaru's jutsu to have limitations makes sense in my mind (it also makes his body-swapping a bit more limited). However, Akatsuki doesn't have a good reason to be stopped momentarily, as Naruto is their only real objective, and the fox seems to be fine. Unless Jiraiya thinks they won't attack while he is around, but I think they're ambitious enough to take him on.

As blkmage said, it is a bit convenient.

"There will be no chapter of Naruto manga next week, and then in the following issue a sidestory about a certain character will commence. It should be interesting to see, we could finally get the answer to one of the biggest mysteries in the Naruto series. I can't help but think we will be seeing a twist in the plot very soon. "

Yeah, when are you able to see all the characters out of combat? ^^ Anyway, regarding the last shot of mystery Akatsuki member in 238... is it just me remembering incorrectly that those eyes mirror Kurenai's (Sharigan minus the koma)? It'd be interesting if one of the Yuuhi clans is an Akatsuki as well. And who else thought that Sakura managing to revive a dead fish was cool? XD

Other than that, I'm still trying to grasp the fact I really did see Neji smiling warmly...

Now this was a manga chapter. All the characters had at least some coverage, it is obvious there was actual character development and there were hints of further progress to come. This is how a three year gap should be done.

Normally I'm against side stories that slow the overall plot, but if it finally answers some questions about Kakashi I won't mind at all.

I can't wait for the Kakashi arc. This chapter was one of the best ones as of late, however. I can't wait to see what will happen. Akatsuki is so mysterious and creepy ^__^.

Um, sorry to butt in on the conversation, but you guys are reading scanlations, right? Because that's the only thing I know of that has the newest chapters... it's not illegal if you delete the files after you are done reading, right? I want to read the unreleased chapters too. ^^

Good to see so much energy, pleasant feelings and positiveness. Go Sakura, I'm rooting for you! XD Also, I wish to add that Shino reminds me of a CAA brother in this thread. LOL

Yes, they are scanlations and I delete the files whenever I get the hard copy.

To be honest, I do not know. However, in my mind it is no different than reading a friend's book or watching an episode on television. I have never saved any of the files, and I have (and will continue) to buy every single issue of Naruto that I have read once it comes out in America.
