Remember when I said I would say when I was mad? That miffed me a bit... EDIT>>> I probably would have said the same thing about a year ago... That's until I actually talked to my brother for a while about the subject...
You said "are" I said "could be" by biblical definition of what makes a christian, someone could truely be a christian and be in the mormon church. Really, the same thing is with freemasonry... It's very anti-biblical but there are a lot of freemasons who are REAL christians, it's just they're stuck in something that can drag them down. That doesn't make them less christian or not christian. Deceived, yeah. In dangerous waters, yeah. It could lead them away from Christ, of course. But it doesn't take away from if they had completed the qualifyers (and contiune to do so) of Christianity. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, in one verse, confess your sins in another, he's fulfilled the biblical requirements and the mormonism doesn't invalidate that. It's wrong, it's dangerous, but it doesn't invalidate what the Bible says.
When I said "I don't think mormonism is real christianity, but I believe many mormons are true christians" I meant that mormonism is false. It's a deception. I know that. However, I don't think that just falling for that deception negates someones salvation. My Brother knows what the requirements are for salvation, and he's definately fulfilled them. He's just caught up in some other stuff and it's dangerous, but he hasn't lost his salvation or anything. And, I think that with honest study of JUST THE SCRIPTURES and not the mormon extras, many mormons are real christians having fulfilled biblically what they needed to. That's what I mean. My brother hasn't gone through the temple rituals yet. It's possible he may realize some things when he does. It's possible he may not... However, purely being in the mormon church doesn't invalidate what he knew. (he was a babtist before he joined the mormon church...) I think with prayer, considering that mormons still read the bible, they can discover the problems with it for themselves (with the help of the Holy spirit) but, yeah... I believe my brother is a Christian, even though I believe mormonism is wrong...
