RIAA Amnisty scam & age stuff.

OK, my guess is a few of the people on this board are using kazaa or some such deal. RIAA has offered amnisty to anyone who wants to take it, but the EFF has warned users not to. ( http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,112362,00.asp ) Also, the RIAA doesn't appear to care how old you are. According to some news reports ( http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,96797,00.html ) they are suing a 12 year old girl in new york.

Just FYI.

Gutless, purely gutless, targeting a 12 year old.

That is pretty gutless...I didn't even dl stuff that often and it still bugs me. I hope it really comes back to bite them (I'm sure Shatterheart shares the sentiment...:P)

Greedy insolent RIAA, going after a 12 year old like that. :shady: I understand they’re point to this whole deal, but their handling it the wrong way.

They just care about money. :comp:

A lot of companies are like that.

I'm hoping this backfires on them.

It's only a matter of time before some designs a little program to download (like SETI@Home), something like

"Donate your PC's free resources to DDOS the RIAA site"

I hope the RIAA looses everything, they all go broke and live by working...lol (what a concept huh?) Anyway, I mostly buy cds....*shrug* They will get tired of the boycotts and stop this mindless joke at some point.

I would SO like to see this happen. Any ideas where I can get more info? I've got the IL headquarters building for apple in my back yard. (OK, it's really about 1.2 miles away, but who's counting)...

So let's see, Apple competes with M$ AND with the RIAA?!? OK, I think I need to go buy more Macs!

Ok... sorry to bump such an old thread (I found it while looking for my name on google, hehehe... and no, most of those bobtheducks aren't me, especially THAT one... the one on the mac forum is, though... that's really old) but I just thought of something: A christian band that's not under the RIAA! Check this out! http://www.allweatherhuman.com/

you can check them out, I know Tim (and his wife, Noreen, who I knew before Tim...) so yeah! Check them out! Completely corruption free, straight from the indie track.

Check out the download, I'm quite fond of song 2... And, well, track 6... I heard it like 500 times from all the people who played it over and over, so I kinda got sick of it, but you may like it... It's a worship song.

Yeah. They have almost a whole album on their site in MP3 format. I'm thinking of sharing these on kazaa to have some legit and legal files to share, and of course get my friends known, you know? Er, I should say "friend" I only know one member of the band. Noreen is also somewhat of an artiste as well. Quite a musical couple (but she's not part of that band, of course)
