Those are a looooot of good records. The Green Album and Make Believe are both excellent. Do you have Pinkerton or any of Weezer's other stuff, as well?

Yeah, my dad has an incredible ear for music.

In responce to your post in the gift thread: I do want Pinkerton, and I am aware of the content. I haven't heard all the songs off of it, but El Scorcho has got to be my favorite of the ones I have. I can't help laughing when I watch the music video.

EDIT: I forgot about Maladroit, I don't have that one either, have you heard it? That and Pinkerton then I'll have all of them, unless they ever do release Songs from the Black Hole.

I have the Cash album. I really like Nickel Creek, I didn't know anybody else knew about them. I've never heard of Emery or Walking Ashland.

El Scorcho is incredible, and one of my favorites on the CD (it's also fun to play along with on the guitar =D). Pretty much every song on Pinkerton is awesome, with the exception of maybe Getchoo.

Maladroit is excellent. It has Rivers doing all kinds of guitar solos and really cutting loose with all of these great riffs. The songs are all very short, but pretty memorable, in my opinion. Then again, Weezer can do no wrong in my eyes.

Also, you are my new best friend for even being aware of Songs from the Black Hole. =D If they would release that, I'd be the happiest Weezer fan on the planet.

I love Nickel Creek. Their first album is great, and Why Should the Fire Die? is excellent but it's too depressing for me to listen to for long stretches. I really dig the song This Side, though, so I can't wait to listen to the album.

Emery is kind of screamo (as much as I loathe that word....not the genre, but definitely the word hehheh) but their vocalists (all three of them) are amazing. Waking Ashland, you would probably enjoy. They kind of have a Weezer flavor (especially the song Rumors) but with a lead singer who plays the piano. They are also a Christian band, which is great.

I've listened to a few others, but only once, so I can't really remember more then the fact I liked them. Maybe if I can find somewhere to pick it up cheap, I'll get it.

I'm not a huge fan of screamo, Silverstein is about as much as a can stomach. I own System of a Down's Toxicity, though I don't really consider them screamo. How hard is Emery?

I'd say that both of Emery's albums (The Question and The Weak's End) are less hard than Toxicity but with more screaming than Toxicity, if that makes sense. They are both excellent. Check out their myspace page and listen to Walls.

Emery has screaming in it? I've heard only a few of their song, but I can't picture them screaming.

I got two new CDs today. I'll post what they are in another thread.

Since my family didn't actually buy any music for me, I went out and bought 7 CDs for about $55 total:

The W's - Trouble with X
The Echoing Green - Supernova (Does anyone else listen to this band? I'm just now discovering that there is some synthpop music that I like.)
The Benjamin Gate - "untitled"
Watashi Wa - Eager Seas
Emery - The Weak's End
Extol - Synergy (I believe that Burial is now the only CD of theirs that I still lack.)
Living Sacrifice - Reborn
Let others believe in the God who brings men to trial and judges them. I shall cling to the God who resurrects the dead.

I only got one cd for Christmas: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, by Wilco. I'm not sure that I like it yet, nor that I understand it, but I'm giving it a few listens and reads, at least.
