Art thread now in business for comments! =)

New, but happy to be here. Great place! :thumb: I'm crazy about art--it tortures me as much as writing does, so I thought I would drop in and cozy up a place in the art area here and put up some of my stuff (my favorite thing about art is sharing it ^__^).

I have a ton of art--I'll probably post some of my older work, which I'm still proud of, but mind you I believe I've improved. I keep sketchbooks with me wherever I go and they aren't quite a simple sketchbook--I've just started on my seventh one.

I'll start you off with two of my newest drawings--meet D.G., Daisy Gene (or Denim Girl if you prefer ^.~). She is a character I came up with who I'm quite fond of. A friend decided for me that she needs to have a manga called Denim Girl--but until I can think of the story behind her and feel qualified enough... it will be awhile before I take -that- project on. As you can see, she looks a bit different between the two drawings (I haven't been able to yet draw a character more than once very well ^_^). But anyway, I hope you enjoy them! I'll post more stuff up soon. I also have quite a few digital arts. If you're interested, you can go to my site to see pretty much everything. :)

Hopefully, I did the attatchments right ^_^;;

Note: I welcome constructive critisism, so please feel free to give suggestions! :)

Here are some of my more recent (and best to date) digital art. I believe my latest digital art will surpass them all (or at least I'm hoping ^_^), but I'm still working on the finishing details. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these four. I have so many art I'd like to put up here, but against the urge, I'll try to post them in small increments. ^____^

Anyway... to the art! ^o^

Avril Lavigne: Started as an oekaki, but the thing messed up and so I had to finish it in photoshop elements. I'm quite happy with the finished effect :) I used a pic of Avril Lavigne for reference. I enjoyed working with the monotone colors.
Enchanted Gardens: Definitely a favorite :jump: I'm very happy with how it turned out. I had intended it to be larger, but the rest of the background was driving me nuts--sooo.. just cut it out of the picture. ^_^;; I'm esctatic over her dress/sleeves and pretty happy with her hair.

Syriah: Small, but I still like how she turned out. I did it in one day which I was ESPECIALLY happy about. Used a reference of some model.

War of the Roses: This one is really still in progress, but I'm being a bit slow to getting to finishing it. It's written for a sailor moon (alternate reality) fanfiction of mine called War of the Roses. I mostly want to work on her clothes more and the two rose bushes that's only hinted at so far. Her face I think is one of the best I've done. :)

Anyway, I would love to here any comments!

Ooh, me likey. Very nice shading. Some of the best digital art I've seen. Aside from professionals, anyway...

Y'know, I think I'll just be quiet now and just stick with "it's cool"

Great job. I love it. The best one, that I like, is the first one on the right. Those are all great. Great job, and keep the work coming.

Excellent work! You really have an understanding with using light. And the thumbnail of Avril looked like a photograph at first glance. That's generally a very, very good thing to hear about your artwork (especially something that started off as an oekaki!). I can't wait to see more!

New Art

Okay well... here's a couple of older ones, mostly colored pencil, the pen was with a regular cheap ol' ball point pen. The colored pencils are from my fifth sketchbook (I'm now on my seventh). I still like these ones though ^_^

"Story Book" - done in celebration of stories.com's (now writing.com) second birthday.

"Fairy in the Garden" - done as a Christmas present for a friend online

"Lady Bug" - perhaps cliche, but I like her. ^_^ Inspired a bit from Amy Browne's art

"Earthwoman" - done as a comission for a lady online who wanted something to go with her alias-name

"Mechanical Dragon" - just something fun =)

New Art: Serei-sama no Senshi

All right, well... I've accepted to be the artist for Cherie's Christian manga, Serei-sama no Senshi (the Holy Spirit's soldiers). So please pray for me (us really) there since its a really big project. For this semester at least, I'm just going to work on getting a grasp for the characters. Below are two digital arts I've done of Noriko and Sumi and then the third is a rough scan with a bunch of sketches for Noriko's expressions. My favorites for the expressions I think is the smile and the bottom right where she's rolling up her sleeves.. ^__^ I hope you enjoy them!

To check out what the manga is about and the characters, I just got up a website for it yesturday. You can find it here;

Spirit of Nature / Hana

Wow, feels like a long time since I posted something here. I've had something of an artistic draught for the past so many months though. I saw a contest for personifying an aspect of nature though and felt inspired. Here is the inked version of it! :) I did it in one day-->happy.

I need to decide between the Spirit of Nature or Hana (flower) for the name of it. ^_^; What do you think?

The main prize is that the person will CG it, and she's pretty talented at it. It'd be interesting to see someone elses view for coloring it if it wins :)

:) Hi! Haven't been here for a bit. It looks even better!

A friend and I have decided to try and start an anime club for our local area in Florida, and since she goes by Midnite and I go by Star, we've made that the theme for the club and I started a logo-art for it. Below is the inked version...

And below is it colored digitally. I ended up using procreate painter classic which I've only tampered with before since I have a new computer and photoshop elements isn't on it. I'm pleased with the results =)

Hope you like it!

Hey! Not sure if the Midnite-Star one worked, so I'm attatching that one again. At least it's not showing up on my computer.

Then I've done a cat-girl! She's the mascot of an anime club in orlando, and I'm just calling her neko-chan cause as far as I know she has no name. ^__^ Digitally colored in procreate painter classic.

Most recently, I've gotten hooked on Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (PGSM- the live action version), so while impatiently awaiting the next download for the episode, I started working on a digital art for the PGSM Usagi. Hope you like! :) ------ Anyone know why my post won't do paragraphs?
