:stressed: :( :dizzy: :?:
As some of you know, I am giving up fansubs. Could someone help me figure out a way to get rid of the fansubs and bootlegs I've collected. I don't want to sell them, and if possible, I would rather not throw them away, but worst come to the worst, I will. So please help me out. :?: Thanks!

Hmm, well ... that is a tough one, isn't it? Maybe you could keep them as a sort of lending library. Like, if you have a friend who is interested in them, you could lend them a few dvds without too much worry about getting them back. I can see where you wouldn't want to sell them, especially if they've been released in the official dub format.

bootleg dvd's and burned digisubs: make art out of it... That is a lot of plastic, so you may as well do something with it... CLocks, murals, "sculptures" whatever...

Files: Delete them... Free up hard drive space for... um... And then there's... Well, vide... no, um... Fansu... no... Well, maybe you can put your home movies on there or something! And, of course, free legal music and massive desktop images, and all your digital pictures... Take lots of pictures... Get a 128 or 256 MB cartridge, a 3 or 4 Megapixel camera with special color correction and all that, and you will find new use for all that harddrive space... Also, download lots of previews and remixes and free legal mp3's and, of course... well, whatever. And shoot lots of home movies... Make some independent movies, with actual scripts and screenplays, and edit them on your computer... Put that harddrive space to good use so you don't have room for digisubs and roms and such...

Have you considered giving them to an anime club at a local college or university?

If you've burned them to Cd here's what I do with my leftover Cd's. Put them in the microwave! Okay okay I don't how old you are, I'm in college and have my own microwave and fire extinguisher handy so do this at your own risk. My mother and/or father are not there to witness the following:

Okay take the old cd and put it label side down on a paper towel. Insert into microwave. Set the timer for 3 seconds. Turn on and enjoy! It'll spark then when you take it out it makes these cool crackly designs. Though it does leave your apartment smelling like burning plastic, so keep a window open. If you put it in for too long it will set on fire and leave burn marks at the bottom of the microwave (personal experience)

I then use them to decorate the apartment and make valentines. Or you could skip the whole microwave stage and just make art. This year's valentines will consist of me smashing Cd's up then re-glueing them into hearts. Yes, I know I'm crazy. It's part of that crazy graphic designer in me.

I posted a thread called Stuff!( can't remember the rest of the name), and my reasons were posted there amidst some questions. Its alot to read, but didn't you readi it Volt?

I'm with shooby on that one...

RN: "Oops. Sorry honey. Let me lovingly take you to the emergency room and have that stitched up..."

Without knowing your age, I can't recommend the microwave treatment, though. You really do need to watch it carefully. I'd try it and come up with a good rule of thumb for the timing, but I just bought a new microwave yesterday. :)

*LOL* *note to self: 3 seconds...* ^^ Why doncha just give 'em away? Make someon's day with an unbirthday present. ^^ Or, you could dump 'em in the library return slot and watch from a discreet distance to see what happens. Oh! Or you could wrap 'em up like a present and leave 'em on some stranger's porch, ring the bell and run. ^^
