*I'm just going by what I know*
indeed Christmas is Christ mass. It's no secret that Mass is a pagan ervice in the roman catholic church every Sunday. Indeed Christmas was started by the roman cathloic church as a HOLYDAY (holiday) In the bible no where does it state to have holy days, except for thanks giving, but that's not a holy day). Bsides it's been said that Jesus was born in September. So here's what I came up with after hearing mor about Christmas "It's was started by pagans, let's not continue it like pagans."
let's keep out any arguments so this doesnt get locked. (ill try to keep my mouth shut)
but dont get me wrong christmas is my fave holiday

Well, you're right about Catholic. I don't think Jesus was born on Sept. It was more like after Christmas to New year something like that.

Few points to counter there, Ruroken.
First off, Catholics obviously have a different belief system than Protestant christians, but that doesn't make them pagans, nor does it make their services pagan. A pagan, by definition, is someone who does not believe in Christ. So it's hardly sporting to call Catholics pagans, even if we (speaking on the protestant side) disagree with their doctrine severely.
Secondly, while it doesn't say "remember my birth" I would argue that it's still incredibly important to celebrate Christmas. It, and Easter, are the capstones of our faith and the most important elements of it. And, even though it's slightly out of context, one could even present the famous Last Supper quote "do this in remembrance of me" as a precedence to celebrate holidays and remember what the Lord did.
Thirdly, I don't think it really matters *when* you remember His choice to come as a man so much as the fact that you are remembering it.

intersting point ashly. but roman catholics are indeed pagans. heck the pope id practicly God, and that mary is to be worshipped. good works get them to heven ect. a preacher is a medator between man and God. they sure arent going to heaven unless they bcome Christ fallower (christain).
REmeber thy birth. forgot about that.
but we are to have to Holy days, and that is what christmas IS.
(anyone out side of Christ is a Pagan.)
"Thirdly, I don't think it really matters *when* you remember His choice to come as a man so much as the fact that you are remembering it. "

I hope you are aware that 1- there are Catholics here and 2-that some of them really are "followers in Christ" even in Protestant terms. I know quite a few that do not worship Mary, etc., and who are genuine Christians with a heart to serve the Lord.
Before this turns into another 30 Year's War, I'm closing this thread. I nearly closed it to begin with. Any further discussion can be taken up to PM's.
Ruroken has PM'ed me and asked me to add that she did not wish to offend anyone.
