My loot-list... as my family celebrated the Eve instead of the day... brother's kids... custody issues...

I got:

A couple of cute longsleeved shirts from my mom...

A little Kodak digital camera from my mom... (I used it today to take pictures while over at my sister's house for gift unwrapping! I love my new toy!)

A sparkly cross-necklace from my sister...

Smoked cheeses and beef jerky from my brother. He smoked them himself, and it was a gift I knew about that I was looking forward to a lot, because... well... he is the KING OF THE BARBEQUE.

And, from my online boyfriend The first volume English release of the Trigun manga, and DVDs 2 and 3 of the anime "Haibane Renmei", which I have just watched and have a headache from crying/emoting over.

I gave: (I mostly made presents for people this year. I was low on money and my family likes my artwork).

To my 11 year old and 9 year old nieces... paintings I painted them for their bedrooms. They just moved and have been bugging me to make them some artwork to hang on their walls. Small acrylics on canvas, of a unicorn and of a flying, flaming horse, respectively. I also got them kid's art kits with crayons and watercolors and stuff in them, because they like to make art, too.

To my sister and to my brother in law... I custom-painted a mirror for their house. I made it out of an old medicine cabinet door... painted its frame, and did a painting of florals in glass paint on the glass.

To my brother... a customized walking stick. He had a long pine branch. I painted a moutain scene on it... and affixed a calf skull and jawbone to it! I also gave it a feather and a vertebrae... he loves it. I told him that it looks like it is something that should be used in strange rituals. He can scare other hikers away with it!

To my other niece and nephew, hard to shop for teenagers... I got gift certificates to the mall.

Oo, fun thread!

Ok, first my give list- for my boss I bought a coffee mug from Starbucks with his name on it. The man is obsessed, I tell you. For my brother a new billabong shirt & matching necklace. For my sis, a disco ball lamp to go with her new decor. And for my parents, a two-night stay in any hotel of their choice.

On the recieving end-
* lots of perfume and bath sets (from grandparents, parents and parents of my online friends *winks at Shatterheart*)
* an emergency kit for my car (yay!)
* travel bag, perfect for my upcoming Maine trip
* A great novel from my grandparents
* cash, of course
* Indiana Jones on DVD! SWEEEET! *jumps on Shatterheart*
* some really pretty bracelets from Lightbringer, they're awesome too!
Oh, and from my work...I won a drawing for a really nice stereo system...I'm still in shock about that. It's like this huge 4 piece set that I was just blown away by...

so praise be to the Lord Almighty for reminding me how much He and those around me love me! Merry christmas everyone!

I got the Indiana Jones dvds on Sunday, but for Christmas I got:

-Halo for the PC
-3 weird t-shirts (I collect and wear them)
-3 books: "The Black Book of Communism," "The Lord of the Rings," and "The Myths That Divide Us." As you may have guessed, I read just about anything. :thumb:
-2 dvds: "28 Days Later," and "Session 9."
-New watch
-Some Hex Dumbells
-Pepperoni (a tradition for us...I have no idea how it started  )
-Quiksilver jacket

That's from my mom. I'll get more this afternoon and tomorrow from various family members and my dad.

Oh yeah...There were also some things I ordered that didn't arrive in time for Christmas. :(

-Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space for the PS2
-Shinai practice sword
-BB gun :P

Merry Christmas ya'll!

I was poor this so I could only afford to get my parents something, I got my mom a black dress and earrings and my father a camo-hunting hat and a pass to skeet shooting at the gun club. I received from my family; Call of Duty (PC), Crimson Skies (X-box), Mario + Luigi (GBA), Both LOTR director's cut box sets, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It's really quite around here; my dad's cleaning his gun and my mom's playing Pikmin. Me, I'm listening to the Gladiator soundtrack..... relaxing....

Well, God Bless and Merry Christmas, ya'll!

Don't feel too bad. This is my first anime-related gift ever. Siren said that she found it by accident in the middle of a mall, and that it was the only one left.
 I was super lucky. Now I wait in anticipation for my birthday on the 29th.

Well here is what I got this year:

Fiction Writing Demystified by Thomas B. Sawyer
Nadesico Vol. 1 manga (Its weird, it can't fit in my bookcase because it is twice the height of all my other mangas 0_o?)
Ragnarok Vol. 1 ''
Luftwaffe 1946 Vol. 1 (its made by Antartic Press, so it is an American comic than a true manga. It also has a more American art style except for the occasional exaggerated comical faces.)
Shaman King Vol. 1 (You see that I like to read?)

2003 Uncirculated Coin Sets (Philadephia and Denver mints)
2003 National Wildlife Refuge System Centennial Medal
American Eagle One Ounce Silver Bullion Coin
(Yes, I collect coins. It is getting quite extensive.)

Best Buy Gift Card (W00t! More manga!)

I also got a dress shirt and tie (you know I'm actually happy to get this. I have a nice gray with white vertical stripes tailored suit and yet no shirt, tie, or shoes. Once I get the shoes, I am going to look good!)

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. I had a great Christmas! ^-^

The kids got me the entire Slayers boxed set of the first season. Woo hoo!

My daughter got me the Alice 19th manga, Vol. 1. Yay!

My husband got me a new amplifier for my guitar (Yippee!) and a new cord, some screenwriter and novel software by Dramatica Pro, Stephen Curtis Chapman CD, and some other software.

We gave our kids too much stuff to write down, but the big things were: For my son, he got the Neon Genesis Evangelion perfect collection, FF XIII lighter and collectible Squall gunsword, and Zoids VS II for the GC (Japanese version which came with the Desert Liger model). My daughter got a karaoke machine and digital camera, also a bunch of How to Draw Manga books. I gave my husband a scroll saw for his woodwork projects and a new wallet.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. ^_^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
