CAA Signatures

Postby Straylight » Fri May 30, 2003 8:07 am

Hmm, here's an idea I saw on another forum - promo signatures.

The idea is that each person who wants one has a personalised caa-themed image sig with their name on it. You can then use this sig on other forums to promote this site!

I enjoy making signatures, and I'd be happy to make some small customised (maybe animated) signatures, with the caa logo and your name, as well as an anime theme of your choice, or a Bible verse. They would be fairly small (100x300) so they can be easily combined with other images in your sig without causing too much clutter.

What do you think of this idea? vote yes or no in the poll :thumb:

Great idea, and a great way to spread the site and the Christian message!
I'm back to make a post or two every couple years...

Postby WhiteÃ…ngel » Sat May 31, 2003 11:37 am

that is a good idea to have personal sig, and I always promoted caa in all the other forums,
but now we have a real forum.

most other forums warn not to promote other like forums,
so may be moot point to tag caa in the personal sig.

don't mean to be a downer, but I love the personal sig part..
I still haven't made a nice one for myself yet.

Speaking of Advertisement.

Postby Ashley » Sat May 31, 2003 11:42 am

true, and we wouldn't want to come off as obnoxious self-promoting pigs, right?
But there are other ways to promote CAA...
What about business cards? I can make a design (using the skills from my digital graphics class, mwahaha) and then you guys can print them out or take them to a kinko's or something.
Or, there's the aft-forgotten t-shirt/merchandise idea. I'm still good to go on that one.
And sometime soon, I think I'll talk to some of the artists here about getting together and making some posters to give to Youth groups, and ads to put in nice schmancy magazines like Animerica, etc.
Any ideas guys?

It's okay...this was general give-away idea. I know of at least 2 youth ministers who've come to us with something like that in mind. It wouldn't be like, anime promo, but more like, Christian themes done anime-style. Does that make sense? More for room decoration, etc. than anything else. Kinda our way of saying, rock on youth groups!
Oh, fyi, to advertise in Animerica costs at LEAST 200 dollars or so, so the design has GOT to be good.

Wow, some really great promo ideas. I'm all up for promoting CAA in the UK... throwing flyers around youth events is always a good techique :)

Regarding caa sigs,

most other forums warn not to promote other like forums,
so may be moot point to tag caa in the personal sig.

Very valid point - having a sig image promoting CAA on a site where it's against the rules will give us a bad name. If CAA sigs went ahead, there should be a rule against using them in violation of other boards' posting polices.

Postby WhiteÃ…ngel » Sat May 31, 2003 12:00 pm

Well I for one will promote christian anime to the highest extent!

This is the focus I am going... I will do all I can... I want to see christian anime and manga out there as much as the other groups.

I am not a wealthy person, but I can create. I have really good computer art skills and can hold my own with the character creations.

The only reason I haven't produced is because of focus... mine changed for the better. I will produce a major manga and anime in the future no matter what it takes. so comming up with some great art ideas and quailty art to promote CAA might just be the project I would enjoy being a part of after VBS is over in a week or so.

You have no idea how much i appriciate the heart of all in this forum. I will use whatever resources I have to promote it.
I have artist and voice actor friends that may be able to help and I may be able to sqeeze in a plug on keiichi.net if I ask nicely...

another thought!

Postby WhiteÃ…ngel » Sat May 31, 2003 12:20 pm

Hey I was just wondering...

Ash...I saw from your profile that you live somewhere in Texas.

I am going to school here in College Station and have friends in Austin with an awesome traveling skate ministry..

I think we can pull off an awesome promo skate ministry style.

I will see what they have been up to or what it would cost and get a few of the churches around here to help out.

Tell me what you guys think!

Actually I live just outside of Houston, and my church (calvary chapel houston) had a skate group from Austin come down and help out with a thing we had called ShredFest....coincidence?!

I believe he leads the youth ministry there he is one of my human inspirations... he is the one from SAP .. lol .. we had spoke before about starting a clean skate magazine... I still would like to see that hapen, but that is a costly venture.. time wise as well as money.

In case I've missed this (don't have a working site right now anyways), but are there banners/buttons for link-back to the CCA site?

One way to support CCA would be to have links/banners back to this site from our personal sites. I've found many a cool site following links from one personal site to another.

Belatedly and of not much help...LOL

Anyhow, I'd love to have a CAA banner/button for my site, and I know for a fact that Calbh would put up one on hers. I think the ad sigs would be great too, except this is the only forum I'm part of...

Hmm, how many forums am I a member of?

lets count them up... 1,2,3,4...... I think it's about 12.

There's a gray area past that for all the forums I joined and left, and the forums that I only visit occasionally.

LOL--you ARE busy, aren't you? I take that back, actually, there are a couple of Yahoogroups I participate in, but I couldn't do anything but add a text sig to mine. Although I would certainly be willing to do that and I know for a fact there's one group I can do that on. How about something like that?

Later,

As far as the custom image sigs go, you can always use them in here. It won't do much good for promotion, but hey, it'll be fun

I think a happier and rejoicing pic would be more effective.
