It's about time, eh? xD
I'm not sure what expectations I have going in.. but I guess having none is better so I won't be let down if they don't tell us much.

Hmmm...
They better get this right, or else, honestly, they're done for.
They also better be putting out at least 6hrs of battery life, or else I doubt that it will be very useful.
I'd also guess that the screen on the portable is only 720p.

Looks like there'll be a Skyrim port, so that should draw some interest.

Seems like it'd be hard to have a frame strong enough to hold the controllers , but not be too heavy on it's own.
Also curious if this is using Tegra X1's or X2's.

Just looked, and it's supposed to have a HD screen and is using some Tegra chip.

Console quality gaming on the go has me sold, even if it's just at current gen specs. The social aspects are major pluses too, since one console easily supports two players with no extra gear. And Monster Hunter on the Big Screen may or may not be why I am so hyped for it. (Next MH will be on vita or something...)

The Tegra chip concerns me. Not so much from the backwards compatibility viewpoint but rather that I don't see this being sufficiently compelling for performance.

I've heard that the Tegra X1 chip is about the same as a Xbox 1, so I'd be guessing that it might be on the X2 chip, which i'm not sure if anything is known.
Nvidia says that the Switch is powered by "a custom Tegra chip" so it could be a new generation of cpu's and gou's.
I'd say that the cpu is probably 64 bit, and the gpu will support desktop OpenGL. But who knows at this point.

Make this thing region free, and I"ll buy it when I have the money, for sure.
Don't make it region free, and I'll buy it once it's hacked.
There have been 2 pieces of hardware I've wanted to see for years: A system that was both portable and console, and VR. I have my VR (and, by the way, it's pretty great) and a hybrid console is coming out. The region thing will get in the way, though. I'm not living in the US.

Wow, I can't believe it's already been about three months since that initial reveal.
The full presentation is finally upon us tomorrow. Anyone else hyped?

Well, I was interested, but not really hyped. What has me hyped is all the rumors swirling around about a new switch devkit that popped up. Now
that has me hyped.
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch ... oxconn_is/This seems fairly true, but is far from confirmed.
The biggest note about this new set of rumors is the additional chip in the devkit. It's been speculated that it's a GP106 chip, which is an interesting idea, but seems to be the farthest jump in speculation in this discussion:
http://www.zeldainformer.com/rumor-swit ... sible-scd/If it was the case that it's a GP106, it seems much more likely that it's a stand-in rather than the final chip-to-be.

So it IS region free. So I will likely be buying one some day, though I already have 2 consoles, and that makes it very difficult to move across countries (because the consoles + laptop have to all be carry-on). I may even have to ditch my PS3 once I move again (most likely in April)

It being region free is a interesting move by Nintendo. It would definitely encourage importing games from over seas. Also, an expandable microSD card seems like a very smart move to me. I know that not all microSD's are equal, but as far as expandable storage goes, I don't see much that's better for the price.

Has anyone here preordered a Nintendo Switch yet? I have one preordered from Best Buy.
I'm feeling really excited for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! I'm still hoping I can get lucky and find a preorder for the special edition bundle.

I'm not sure, no one has talked about it at the very least.
I'm in no position to order one unless I decided that I would rather sell my current tablet and use that cash to pay for it. Not currently in my thoughts.

I'd like to pre-order, but I still haven't come across one.. It's looking like I'll have to try my luck at launch night/day.

I was only able to get a preorder thanks to NowInStock.net. They alert you whenever a preorder becomes available from a major retailer. Here's a link to the Switch tracker:
https://www.nowinstock.net/videogaming/ ... ndoswitch/Also, thanks to information I learned there, I was able to preorder the Special Edition of the new Zelda.
Just two more weeks!
