Who else is playing this wonderful game? I've recruited Kojima and now trying to get into Strangelove's lab. If you've ever wanted a reason to buy a PSP, here it is.

Lol. I was just rescently thinking about wether to start a topic about this.

I've been playing it for the past week or so. I beat the main story, and am now on the post-game epilogue chapter. Its a bit annoying because you have to replay the AI battles, including getting an S-rank on the Chrysalis battle I've heard, in order to complete your own metal gear and unlock the final story boss. I hope they don't require beating all the extra ops, because some of them are insane ><

In the end I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed with it in comparison to previous MGS games. The controls took a long time to get used to; you really need two thumbsticks to take advantage of them fully, which the PSP doesn't have. While its nice that you don't have to drag enemies back to your truck to recruit them, like in Portable Ops, I miss being able to play multiple characters per mission, and I wish you could do the "wear an enemy uniform to help sneak by the guards" trick like in portable ops. Assigning soldiers to different roles is interesting, but also a little *grindy*, especially with increasing the R&D department to get more weapons. And I hate the whole "outer ops" thing. Just seems like too much resource management taking away from the actual game part. and grinding the AI battles to get components for your metal gear is annoying.

Never played this game, nor do I have any desire to, but I will say I'm jealous of Big Boss. :l

I stopped playing after finishing Chapter 4 to have a bit of a break. Excellent game, and I would agree that it is a perfectly good excuse to buy a PSP (Although, the PSP library contains quite a few gems already in my opinion, with many more coming in the months ahead).

Interestingly, the 2 player adhoc, which I had (foolishly) envisioned prior as being the potential new king of co-operative gameplay, ended up being painful for me. I am convinced my friend believes he is John Rambo whenever he plays this game, with the typical mission amounting to 'run around, cause alert, shoot wildly, run around some more... ... ... C Rank' ("At least it isn't a D rank... right? Right?").

I cannot particularly fault the game itself for anything though. It is just really well put together, and most importantly, fun. Well recommended.

The only thing I remember about this is the hilarious Nana Mizuki music video trailer.

Peace Walker is on the docket for TGS. Wonder if that means it's getting a port to something other than PSP. ANd hopefully getting crawling back.

I'm sorry, it's just not Metal Gear without crawling (and yes, that means MG1 wasn't metal gear, what of it?)

Actually, I'm really interested in it, but would love to see it hit the PS3 or even PS2. I guess since they didn't design the game for crawling, it wouldn't fit now, but... it really just doesn't feel right. I may get it someday.
