Ghost Busters!...

Got it. Love it. Eyes hurt.
The plot is good, the dialogue has moments where it genuinely feels like the old movies (and some moments where it doesn't, necessarily), and so far the gameplay has been challenging and engaging. The one gripe I'll give is that any time you die it shunts you to a loading screen that plays the theme song over and over again.

I don't know, I don't think it looks that great...I would need to try it though. Maybe I would like it.
I just want a Luigi's Mansion sequel though.

You're... seriously looking in the wrong direction if you want a Luigi's mansion sequel. Seriously.
If one likes Gears of War, there are a LOT of similarities in gameplay, but combat has a few added tweaks.

I never watched the Ghostbusters movies, but I gotta admit that the game looks pretty fun, and I can't find anything else that looks quite like it. I might rent it just for the novelty of hearing Bill Murray's voice in a video game. Dur hur.

Truth told, it's well worth your time to at least watch the first movie before going in to this game. It was pretty obvious to me as a life long lover of the film that it was geared towards weirdos like me.

Really? I heard the opposite, that watching the movie first would make the first few hours of the game a lot more boring, as it recycles a lot of the movie's content.

It does, but the writing and the story are geared towards existing fans of the series. The in-jokes and references are worth it to see, additionally it doesn't do a whole lot of explaining about who everyone is or anything like that. The retread is there as fanservice more than it is for exposition. Exposition doesn't really exist in that way. The only thing they're concerned about is the present story.

And I'm a retard.

Is there any mention made to the absence of
Dana Barret
in the story?

As far as I am in the story, no mention what so ever (why the spoiler tag?). That I know of she was the only person who declined to come back for voice work. In the second movie it was pretty clear that she and Venkman were not happening, so it doesn't surprise me that she might have simply drifted out of the series as it was.
That said, I'd love it if one of the new characters in the third movie is her kid.
Also, when you get to play the game, totally check out the certain object from the second movie hanging out next to Janine's desk.

Interesting. I've heard the Sigourney is positive on the idea of returning as Dana for GB3, though how much truth is behind that statement I have no idea. As to Oscar being one of the new recruits, I couldn't imagine a better candidate. ;-) No doubt Egon would want to run tests on how exposure to the spirit of Vigo has affected his development into adulthood.
I'll definitely have to get this game as soon as I can. I've heard it's going for a cheaper price, but any idea what the PC version is retailing for?
As to the spoiler tag, I've been trying to remember why exactly I did that myself, but to no avail...

I definitely wanna check this out. It's between Ghostbusters and inFamous, and frankly I think I'd rather play Ghostbusters.

Oh me too! I miss playing Luigi's Mansion and wish there was a sequel.
However, I saw the commercial for Ghostbusters and it look pretty cool.
I may check it out or something.

OK, so I picked it up today. Fun stuff. And of all the great games out there now, there aren't a whole lot for which "fun" is the first word you'd think of to describe it. Not meaning to say that they aren't fun, but fun above all. And Ghostbusters is.

It felt SO GOOD to catch the first couple ghosts.
I guess what I'm trying to say is... Bustin' makes me feel good.

I'm holding out for that delightfully corny rap from the closing credits of Ghostbusters II, but I don't guess I'll hear it.
Too hot to handle, too cold to hold . . .
