Game contest help

Okay, here's the deal. I entered a nation-wide game designing contest and my idea has been picked to be one of the 5 finalists. The next stage in the contest is voting. Anyone can vote if you're a legal US resident (sorry to those who aren't) and the votes will comprise 20% of the final score, the judges decide the other 80%.
The grand prize is $10,000 and the game will be made into a free downloadable flash game with some other extra goodies.
My game concept is called "Rhythm" and you can vote once per calendar day. The voting will begin on May 8 and proceed through the 22nd.

I don't have a link at this time but will provide one once I get one.

So please vote you guys, I would really appreciate it. I'm really praying hard for this for it could be a huge opportunity to give me a step up towards my career and towards college.
Thanks ahead of time. ^_^

That's really neat! I'm not quite sure what the requirements for being a citizen are (I'm worried my being only thirteen might flub it) But anyhow I'll definitely be praying!

Can I ask how the game would play? If your submission has made it this far into the final round, and with a prize $10,000 it should have stood against some stiff competition, I'm really curious as to what you drew up.

Well, to put it basically, it's a platformer but it is also music based. The character you control can switch between multiple styles of music (more unlockable later) and each one effects the surrounding world in a different way. For example, pop is a bouncy, happy style of music so it makes everything bouncy/rubbery and allows you to jump to higher heights or smooth jazz is slow and it slows everything way down.
That's just a basic overview.

Huh. That *is* an interesting idea. :thumb:

Way to go! Just be sure to keep us in the loop as things go along.

My idea is #4 Rhythm.
There is no registration required and you can vote once per day until the 22nd.
Thanks to those who help out. ^_^

Voted.

Seems like you're in the lead so far. I hope it stays that way for you, as I'd really like to see this idea happen.

I don't like to vote for an idea just because someone asks me to, but I went to the site anyway. I voted for your idea because I believe it's legitimately the most interesting idea there. Chroma Blocks sounds like it could be fun as well, though. I'd love to play either one.

Awesome! Shame I missed the voting - as a lover of platform games and music, the fusion of the two really gets me excited. I assume we'll have access to the game when they formally announce it in June?

I have hugely good news! The trip to Best Buy HQ and their charity classic was 2 days ago and Norm Goldstein said I am almost guaranteed an internship at EA the summer I graduate. This Is an amazing opportunity for me and I thank God for every bit of it. ^_^

Very nice, Shiningmonk.

Just remember us lesser mortals who supported you when you were still small time.
