Half-Life 2 Mods - which are the best ones?

What are the best Half-Life 2 mods - both single player and multi-player?
I'm looking for something a bit different from the whole zombie or military scene. I've heard Dystopia is very good. I've also heard there are fantasy or medieval based ones (don't know the names).
Anyone?
Thanks

I have Team Fortress 2 but no-ones ever online (that I know) when I want to play (lousy Aussie daylight hours).
Thanks Ryan!

The fantasy one you're thinking of is Age of Chivalry.
Check out Earth's Special Forces and Natural Selection HL2 mods, both of which are some of the best out there.

W4J, are you playing TF2 on a PC on like... public servers? That should like... solve your problems of not finding people to play with. XD
Edit: HOLY CRAP, check out these two:

In terms of single-player mods, Minerva is an excellent mod. In fact, the guy who created it was picked up by Valve and is now working for them. For multiplayer mods, two come to mind. Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II is a very fun mod. If you want a more serious, realistic mod, Insurgency is another great choice.
