Sonic unleashed looked like it was gonna be a great game, but then... then they did this!

I want to play sonic for a speed element! Not some Cutesy God of War rip-off! I am so angry about this.

Doesn't look bad to me. Nice and fast. Besides, it's just another Sonic game and sonic hasn't been really good in a long time.

This teaser is epic.

There is no werewolf scene.

It looks not bad actually. Then again I remember seeing the trailers for Sonic for the 360 and thinking it looked pretty good. So...yeah.

Also it looks more like a Dynasty Warriors ripoff than God of War. Those life bars are totally Dynasty Warriors.

So go play the old Sonic games. Besides, most of the trailer is, guess what? High-speed, classic Sonic gameplay. In fact, it's pretty freakin' good-looking if you ask me. What the heck's wrong with trying to broaden the gameplay experience?

And yeah, it does look more like Dynasty Warriors than God of War to me. Which is fine - I've sacrificed many a weekend hour to the DW series.

I think this is the best-looking Sonic game to date.

*agrees with everyone whose said this isn't that bad*

The in game God of War button pressing at precise moments to do things is actually not a bad thing to add to sonic. I think it will actually allow them to keep the game at a blazing fast speed for the most part and as long as the combat is decent I don't think the game will be horrendous from what I've seen.

Sonic and the Black Knight
This is just a link to a picture, on Nintendo power magazine.
This game looks amazing as well.

I remember watching the Cartoon, loved that Cartoon!

I actually want to think that the werewolf thing would be pretty good, but all the gimmicky stuff they put into past sonic games has made me very skeptical when someone tries to add some new element, I just wanted a regular high-speed sonic game, but if the team making this game can pull it off, then bring it on. It's just that sonic's track record has been pretty bad so far, and I just wanted an old-school-esque sonic game.

This... looks like it'll actually be a good Sonic game.

THERE IS HOPE FOR THE FRANCHISE!

And Sonic and the Black Knight looks like absolute crap. Seriously. The fact that it was Nintendo's "secret title" just further proves to stupidity of Nintendo.

I'm open to seeing what SEGA has in store for Sonic. Despite what people will call a rash of bad games, Sonic has been (and still is) one of my favorite characters...and this all began back when I was five.

I heard that the "Black Knight" game is the next in a series of "Storybook" Sonic titles. That's what NintendoPower says I think. Can only make you wonder what's next. Jules Verne?

(Interestingly enough, I share the same birthday as Sonic. ^_^)

Yea they call it the sequel to Secret Rings.
I'm excited for it!
I think it's going to be awesome!
You can help people which will bring you closer to becoming a Knight or smite people and will hurt sonics reputation.
You also can play as Knuckles or Shadow!
Knuckles wields 2 swords.
And instead of tilt they are using the nun's analog stick. But swinging the wiimote allows him to attack with a slash.

this is neat too He can buy items from villagers, which gives him bonuses and which the player can trade online with friends.

and finally what i think is neat, the music is going to be sonic music with a celtic vibe! LOL

Well I think Yahtzee Crawshaw got it right when he said "Don't get your hopes up for a new game, if it's great, then that's fine. If it's not so good, then you've lost nothing." HOORAY BEING SKEPTICAL.

...Sonic with a sword... sorry, but I think this further proves my point... didn't they learn that sonic + weapons =NO after making Shadow?

I find nothing wrong with the trailer. It looks like it'll be a blast to play. High speed with some dynasty warriors crowds and a simi-God of war style combo meter set up. Sounds and looks pretty fun to me. Who nows the brawler aspects could be awesome

I think that trailer was for the Xbox 360 version. But alas, it's looks like a pretty sweet game to me, and "Unleashed" would probably be a piece of eye candy for all current gen systems. :)
And talk about real-time: hecka fast and no constant obstacles to bog you down. I'm sure Sonic wouldn't have it any other way. Unlike "The Secret Rings" (now that game sucked). :)

If there is any upcoming Sonic game that you should be skeptic about, it's probably "The Black Knight", which is basically from the same team behind The Secret Rings.

I agree. ^_^ Nintendo could do better than to boast these "storybook" Sonic games. The only reason I would buy The Secret Rings would be for the multiplayer mode. Single Player is just an embarrasement!

Wait, so it's made by a team that failed to make a decent game the first time around...completely gets rid of the one element that makes Sonic cool (speed), places him in a situation that makes zero sense in the Sonic world (akin to placing Mario in a dystopian cybernetic future environment), and has gimmicky Wii controls for no other reason than to have gimmicky Wii controls?

WOW HOW COULD THIS GAME POSSIBLY GO WRONG?!

i can control sonic perfectly.. in the secret rings.
I love that game, it gets pretty fast if you don't get slowed down by obstacles. =D

There are people that have no trouble with Lair, too... Just not MANY... Seriously, you have to do that stupid flick thing to do a 180? It NEVER worked when I wanted it to, and always worked when I didn't want it to... And who's bright idea was it to guard hydrogen filled creatures with FIRE BREATHING DRAGONS...

*sorry, had a Lair flashback*

The new PS3 / 360 sonic game honestly looks incredible... I can't wait.

It's also coming out for the Wii as well, in case you didn't know.
The guys in gamestop told me to pre-order it, but I don't think I have to do that.

You lost me at "cutesy" and "God of War." I never expected to see those two phrases situated side-by-side.
As for the video, I'd say as long as the controls aren't beastly hard to work with (as they tend to be with most Sonic games since Sonic 3D Blast), it might actually be worth a shot.

Anything + Steampunk = WIN in my book. But yeah... this actually looks promising. Though I'm not sure about the werewolf thing. I'm raising my alert to cautiously optimistic.

That's what I am concerned about, really. I have been a huge fan of Sonic games in the past, but the more recent efforts have been... I don't know, embarrassing?

We'll see how it turns out anyway. They say they're trying to redeem Sonic with this attempt, but they also said that about Sonic (X360/PS3).
