I checked out the list on Wikipedia and here's my reaction:
:dizzy::rock:
But I was wondering what games you'd like to see on it?
Here's my list:
Final Fantasy 1-6
Megaman 1-5 (it started stinking after 5, I'm told)
TMNT II: The Arcade game
Mario Paint

GI Joe the arcade
GI Joe
GI Joe the Atlantis Factor( it would be great if these were remade)

Earthbound/Mother 2
That was my absolute favorite game when I was growing up, and never fails to invoke large amounts of nostalgia. A couple of years ago, I lost my copy. Instead of buying a new (used) one for the snes, I decided to wait until it came out for the VC. It hasn't. I am still waiting.

Why, why, why, WHY do people keep insisting on getting the Megaman games on the Virtual Console? WHY? Do they REALLY want to waste their money so badly?
ALL EIGHT Megaman games are available on the Megaman Anniversary Collection for both the PS2 and Gamecube. The game is only TWENTY DOLLARS. You ALSO get Power Battle and Power Fighters. So let's see. You get TEN games for two dollars apiece basically. Know how much they would be on the Virtual Console? Five bucks apiece, except for the SNES one, which would be roughly seven dollars, and you wouldn't get 8 or the other two games.
To answer the original question of the thread, now that I'm done ranting, since you know, I'd rather see games that AREN'T available elsewhere on the Virtual Console, I would like Super Mario RPG.

I could name a bazillion nes, snes and genesis games I would like to see on there... but mostly, I am itching to play some N64 games again. I really would love to see Goldeneye or Perfect Dark... I know the chances of that are slim. Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps, Wave Race 64, Beetle Adventure Racing, Rush SF/2/2049, BattleTanx: Global Assault, Top Gear Overdrive... etc.

Chrono Trigger... but I just got that for PS1 so not that big of a deal... though the added animation is annoying. TNMT II... the arcade one. Probably one of the most played Nintendo games we had. Jurassic Park from Sega Genesis (never gonna happen... but I was a total JP fanatic though when I was little and I always loved that game
) Umm... Ducktails... The Fantastic Adventure of Dizzy...

Are they going to add any Dreamcast games? Because if so then my list got a whole lot longer.
Also, I prefered the SNES version of Jurassic Park, but man was it a hard game.

Mother 2, Super Smash Bros., and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Oh, by the way, Mother 2 has been re-rated by the ESRB, meaning it might be coming soon.

Maybe. If you remember, Super Mario RPG was re-rated by the ESRB two years ago. And well, haven't seen it yet.

Heaven forbid Earthbound gets taken off. I don't even want to think of the chaos NOA would have against the fan-base. (Me included)

Here's something I don't understand: the Wii has a Zapper, so why not make a collection of all those old NES Zapper games like Duck Hunt or Hogan's Alley or at least put these up on the VC too?

Because they would have to completely reprogram those NES games, seeing as how the Wii remote works on COMPLETELY different technology than the original NES zapper. In fact, did you know that the NES zapper will not work on flat screen televisions at all?
Thus they wouldn't be able to just port the game to the VC like they can with, say, Super Mario Bros. It would take far, far too much work to transfer games like Duck Hunt.
That's awesome, and you know, despite the fact that it was made as a joke, I'm not too sure that it isn't the truth. I'm fully convinced that the higher-ups at NoA absolutely loathe Earthbound and have dedicated their jobs to making sure it never shows up in the US in any form ever again.

I could go for some Earthworm Jim, I could.
Also, I wouldn't mind having a little Jet Force Gemini sitting pretty on my Wii's hard drive.
What else....? Oh! I want UN Squadron on SNES. That's one of my all time favorites from my childhood.
I can't remember if Kirby's Superstar is on the list or not... but if it isn't.... it freakin' SHOULD BE!
And of course it goes without saying that I want the Mothers to be on there.

Kirby Superstar will not be released on the Virtual Console, because it was remade for the Nintendo DS as Kirby Ultra Deluxe. Releasing it on the VC would hurt sales of the DS remake.

Here's my list:

All Street Fighter Games (if that's possible)

Makes sense, but it didn't stop them from releasing SMB3 or any of the other games that have been remade in recent years.

Yes, but those remakes are old. Heck I think the SMB3 remake came out while I was still in the Navy, which means it was at least four years ago. The Wii wasn't even announced back then. After four years you're not really still looking to make a profit on a game, which is why they can release SMB3 without fear that it would hurt sales of the GBA remake.
However, the VC is out now, and so it will hurt sales of the DS remake.
And I'm not saying they'll never release it ever. They might do it a year after the DS remake has been out or something like that. That way they'll have made their profit on that, and then can make a profit on people buying it on the VC.
Because Nintendo realizes that people are stupid enough to buy things that they already own. Hence why there were so many iterations of the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance. And why Nintendo fanboys continue to buy the original Zelda game even though they already own it. In seven other forms.

Hehe, I'm a little guilty of that myself. I own at least three versions of the original zelda and a couple versions of OoT. ^^;
Yeah I think you're right, but one can still hope.
