...but supposedly aimed at highschoolers/college women(from the looks of the cover)?

It's free...but I don't think I'd touch it...:eyebrow: a tad too sugary sweet...like the barbie isle at a toystore.

...Bizarre. While I am one of those (seemingly rare) female gamers that also happens to like girly things like clothes and makeup, I don't think this magazine is for me.

It looks more like a gaming magazine trying to attract girls into makeup and such than it is a magazine trying to attract female gamers. Whatever, though. XD I wouldn't be reading it either way. XD

It looks like a girls gamer Cosmopolitan magazine or something.

Cover story: How to get your boyfriend to buy the game that you want this Valentine's day!

Heh. I think I actually can name 3 IRL girls who would like this magazine. They're all in my Junior High sunday school class.

Talk about niche marketing!

There's been a few attempts over the years to isolate female gamers in their own stereotypes. It's weird that they've all done this low substance, glitter and glam theme. Just what do these publishers think of girls anyway?

Exactly. I am insulted by this magazine, as I enjoy reading Nintendo Power and find nothing that makes me feel out of place reading it (Aside from the fact they once had an article that was basically saying, "Hey, look people! Even girls play video games! How about that!" Gimme a break...).

And the tone the author of the article took on was so demeaning...geesh...

Considering the title of the article was "Girl Gamer magazine thinks it's still the 1950s," I'm pretty sure that was a sarcastic tone, rather than a demeaning one, though I can see how you might confuse the two. XD

No. Why are we talking about this? We all know there are no girls on the internet anyways.

...no wonder that store clerk gave me a weird look when I bought Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

Girl Gamer? Forget that, I'd like to see a magazine targeted toward middle-aged mother gamers. The AARP needs a gaming magazine as well. While I'm at it, I want my coffee table to have copies of The Gaming Wine Enthusiast and Poodle Players Monthly.

After reading through the comments on that article, I think everyone is missing a vital piece of information.

This magazine comes with OTHER magazines about "hot boys," makeup, glitter, stickers, pink, dresses...you get the idea.

In other words, this magazine is only trying to appeal to the girls who are into the frilly girly girl stuff and read those other magazines. If you don't read those other magazines, they're not trying to target you.

That is all.

Another girly magazine is another dull idea. XP

haha, wow, this magazine looks like something I totally wouldn't read. I mean, it's cool that they are trying to target some girl gamers and all, but all the female gamers I know aren't into all the girly frilly type of video games. I mean...who wants to learn how to cook on their DS? Well maybe some do, but I don't. lol

Sorry for getting a little steamed earlier, guys...I tend to sometimes blow things out of proportion, this included.

And I found Cooking Mama a really cute game, regardless that it's not the full recipe (though there is a Japanese game that is pretty much a recipe book, and that sounds like fun). I'm actually waiting until I can buy the sequel...and until my review for the first game is put up in the reviews section (along with Teen Titans...both of the game I have submitted reviews for are now available in the "bargain" games section of Target, for about $20 each...so I'm hoping that the reviews will be up soon. Anyways, sorry about that rant, it's just been so long...).

Baby Pals?! Oh my gosh! IMMA GONNA GIT THAT RIGHT DER. Forget babysitting little brothers, I need my own creepy, virtual baby to care for. ;o;

But seriously, that article made me lol so much... I mean, who comes up with these kinds of ideas? XD; I think I'll stick to reading Nintendo Power, kthnx.
