Additional Information and Gameplay tips from Azier the Swordsman


For DS owners - Full list of changes between versions:

-A new playable character has been added.

-Brand new chapter continuing where the DS version leaves off.

-New tools come into play on special missions - Defribillator, penlight, and even a camera flash.

-The "massage" feature has been done away with.

-Various tool functions have been altered.

-Certain missions are completely different.

-The X-Missions are now much harder.

-Difficulty select, changeable at any point in the game.

-Reworked graphics.

-The game's soundtrack sounds GREAT on my surround sound setup.

If you own the DS version already and are considering whether or not to plunk down the change for the updated version, I can safely say this is definately not some half-hearted port like some companies tend to do. *coughSegaCapcom*cough* Atlus put some serious work into making the game better than it already was, and existing fans will get a kick out of the new things that have been done. Recommended.

Gameplay Tips:


The game is straightfoward enough, but some of the GUILT strains can be a real pain. I'm not going to walk you through any detailed strategy of any sort, but here is a handy list of tips to follow for each type. I'm not including Tetarti because it's too straightfowardly easy.

Kyriaki

Not too hard, and can be completely killed in seconds. Instead of trying to kill one at a time, I recommend killing them all in steps. First, if their are multiple Kyriaki in the organs, first cut them ALL out, then laser them all at once, and finally suture the lacerations. Rinse, wash, and repeat as more appear. They don't cause all that much damage in the first place, so you shouldn't have any problems keeping the situation under control with this strategy.

Deftera

This one is a huge pain. First off, do whatever you can to keep like colors from touching each other. You can use the antibiotic gel for this by making a "barrier" around two opposite colors and repel the others. If ANY tumors appear, take care of them ASAP. If they start piling up, the patients' vitals will plummet rapidly and you will lose. Only focus on one pair at a time. All you have to do is get one pair out, and the rest of the operation is cake, so don't waste your time on both pairs at once, or you will likely lose. Get rid of the first pair ASAP and the rest will follow smoothly. Healing Touch works great for the first pair.

Triti
This one is another huge pain because it constantly replicates itself and you have to be really, really fast to get it out. For this reason, I really don't recommend trying to beat it the "normal" way, as it moves just way too fast. (Although it's not impossible by any means to beat it the normal way.) As soon as the Triti comes into view, the best strategy is to quickly do a Healing Touch and extract it ALL before the timer expires. Thorns first, membranes second. You should be able get it all out before the timer expires, and you will have gone much faster than it was able to replicate even once.

Pempti
While killing the core is obviously the goal here, it is NOT your priority. Your main priority is to kill everything coming out of it first. You let too many of those suckers get out and wreak havoc, the patients vitals will plummet. There is no real strategy for the rest, and this one puts up a heck of a struggle, but perserverance will pay off.

Paraskevi
This strain is very deadly. First off, keep all parts stunned at all times. Stunning is your number one priority. Only cut at the smallest portions until you kill each one. Do NOT try to slice them all up evenly, or you will have way too many running around than you will be able to handle.

Savato

This one is fairly straightfoward, so a strategy here isn't terribly neccesary, but I'm including this because the move for finishing Savato off isn't terribly obvious, and some people might might have difficulty figuring it out. First off, do not use Healing Touch during the entire battle, ever. Otherwise, you can't win. Wait until you have exceedingly damaged Savato. It goes crazy, and begins quickly slicing up the organs in a last move of desperation. Derek activates an AUTO Healing Touch, in which you must quickly follow up with a second MANUAL Healing Touch. Time stops, allowing you to make the final lethal injection. Don't forget to suture the lacerations first. Don't worry, the Time Freeze isn't going anywhere. :)
