I just bought a Nintendo DS Lite and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow today. Dawn of Sorrow is amazing, but I want to get some other games, too. I want some good recommendations. I'm already planning on picking up Final Fantasy III and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. I need stuff for long car trips and that I can jump into and play a little bit on break at work. Hit me, babies.

OMG PHOENIX WRIGHT I AND II
They may be hard to find. But you will LOVE them.
I have about 12-13 DS games, and my top choices are
-Phoenix Wright. HILARIOUS lawyer game. It is too amazing.
-Elite Beat Agents/Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! d. EBA is the American version of Ouendan. Different songs, etc. I find Ouendan betRhythm and music-based game. Yes it's wacky, awesome, and never gets olter.
-Final Fantasy VI for the GBA. Yes get it.
-Hotel Dusk. Incredible mystery game. But can be a little short. Not much replay. It's like a book. BUT DUDE IT'S AMAZING.
So yes.
DO AS I SAY!

QF FREAKIN T!!
I'm getting a kick out of Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. It's cute, it's fun, and if you're a fan of the franchise, there is a lot of secret humor in there. Starfox and Mario Cart are both multiplayer mayhemic fun. Warioware touched is also a hoot. and FFIII is good too.

Super Mario 64 DS. I love that game. All the minigames in it are great. And I've heard good things about Metroid Prime Hunters, but I haven't got it yet.

While I prefer the Wii version better, I have to definately recommend Trauma Center.

Elite Beat Agents has my vote.

Elite Beat Agents, Lunar Knights, and Pheonix Wright are probably the three best DS games that have come out for awhile.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Including the bit about preferring the wii version. It's not a game, it's a soap opera, but it's strangely addictive and fun.
(before anyone gets defensive, I try not to call Metal Gear a game either)
DS games...
New Super mario brothers... Come on, it's classic mario.
Those are my suggestions...
I'll be getting children of mana when I get mine, but I know it had horrible reviews... I'm just doing it because I'm a huge Seiken Densetsu Fan, and if it plays anything like SD3 and nothing like Legend of Mana, I'll love it... Oh, and if it has a decent story.

EBA/Phoenix Wright 1/Trauma Center
Also I MUST recommend Brain Age: Train Your Brain In Minutes A Day and Big Brain Academy. These two games are fun and educational, although Brain Age is geared more toward adults than Big Brain Academy. I have both games, and
BA: TYBIMAD is hard but has the best Sudoku interface I have EVER seen on the DS. BBA is easier than Brain Age but is still a good game.
Kirby Canvas Curse and Squeak Squad get my vote too. CC has touch screen control but SS has optional DS control. Both of them tweak the Kirby formula. I recommend 'em both because I'm a Kirby fan. <(^"^)>

-Jump Ultimate Stars - You'll have to import it, but it's definitely worth it. It's like Super Smash Bros with more depth and manga characters.
-Mario Kart DS - Just as good, if not better than all the other Mario Kart games.
-Elite Beat Agents - Crazy addictive rhythm game.

The problem is that there is so much of a language barrier, that to enjoy the game you need to sit in front of a gamefaqs.com faq while playing it. Unless you unlocked everything.

That is true, but after playing for a while you will realize that most of the mission objectives are the same or very similar. I used GameFAQ's to complete the main mode and figure out some help komas, and now I can finish unlocking the rest by myself, without a guide. Knowing Katakana is also very helpful, but you should do fine without it.

yeah. i recommend Jump Superstars and Jump Ultimate Stars. though there is a language barrier, once you get the hang of it, the game(s) can be pretty awesome. also, try Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.

I'm SO mad that I didn't pick it up from where I work when I had the chance... The price made me go "eh, later" and the ONE time I go to get it, and now I find out it's old, discontinued, and haven't been able to find it elsewhere since, except expensively on Ebay/Amazon :/ *sigh* One day...
Guess it's hard to say how they are now (since they won't be out for just about a month), but I am awaiting Diamond and Pearl^^ Nostalgia, PLUS DS touchness^^ And just... yeah looks good^^

Also I 4got to mention Wario Ware Touched as well! I'll post up a review pretty soon. However there is a new character named Ashley (no relation to the CAA founder/manga review approver/mod) that is a witch. If that offends you I don't really recommend it.

Don't buy anything else until you've tried Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan
It's from the makers of Elite Beat Agents, but was the original game before it.
It's the best game for the DS in all areas. From the stories to the music, this game is completely flawless.

YES!!!!! Ouendan ROCKS! (the final boss is ready steady go for all the FMA lovers...)
it is sort of expensive to import though
if you like Larc and asian kung fu generation(morining masumi(sp?)too) they all have songs in there too.
