1) $250 vs. $600
2) Downloads of all my past favorite games.
3) Metroid, Zelda, Super Smash Bros. (with Solid Snake), ect.
Wii is for the win.

Wii60 FTW ROFLOMGRANDMOTHER!
Ahem.
Anyhoo, yeah, the Wii rules. I'm not a fanboy, but I'm pretty proud of Nintendo. They outdid themselves.

GameCube takes the prize in my mind as my least favorite system from them, but the Wii...
I agree with Zilch.
This time around, they truly outdid themselves.

Well, grab a Wii and control and memory card, and you've got a Cube too! That's what I did^^ Some games I want to play off of it, but I've realized that there really wasn't a heck of a lot of interesting stuff for it...

...I know. But just saying how the Wii's good with being a good alternative to playing Cube too, without buying the actual system for it.

My cousin's got a Wii for Christmas, so I was finally able to play it over their house before the Super Bowl, and I'll say it was some of the most fun I have ever had while playing a video game (and that's saying a lot.) Even if it was only Wii Sports. Now I need to go get one myself..... Anyone wish to lend me $300?

Gamecube's down there with Dreamcast and 32X in my opinion, but the wii is probably one of the best systems out there Looks like the Wii saved Nintendo from the grave

The Wii is like Nintendo's way of saying "...made you flinch!" after the Game Cube, which was just a big missed opportunity for them.

The wii is an awesome little system that gets non-gamers to game... I don't even put it in the same category as the 360 and the PS3, which are slightly more serious gaming machines made for the more hardcore gamers... VC is nice, but so is XBLA and Playstation network downloads... It's really the controller, which is a huge gimmick, and doesn't work well for normal games (read: stuff like splinter cell) so it's success is primarily from drawing non-gamers in.
I love the wii. I'll get one eventually. I just want a machine that keeps moving forward in pushing the limits with technology, not just basing the system around a new controller. This is not the same as the Atari vs NES days. The wiimote does not really replace a normal controller setup. It's an alternate controller, maybe a bit broader in use than Dance pads and Guitars, but only an alternate controller nonetheless. The wii will always be the secondary console for me.

I think you have the Wii confused with the NES....

Nintendo said that the reason they made the Wii is to get more people playing video games. People who had never played video games and those who had stoped. There are countless stories about how that is happaning. I think those people will start to buy PS3s and 360s. The video game industry will continue to grow.
I am not a "fan boy" of Nintendo,Sony, or Microsoft.
I like what I like because I like it.
Do not ever try to put me in a category

But by saying "save", you imply it was failing.
The videogame industry was certainly not failing, especially before the Wii was out.

Okay, save was the wrong word. I have changed it to "expanded".

Meh, the Wii does not appeal to me right now. Not many games I am interested in. To be honest, this is the same for the PS3 and 360 as well. I guess, for now, I am not a big Next Gen Gamer. I have all the current (or last, which ever you want to call it) systems (PS2, Game Cube, Xbox), and I am still satisfied with them. Blue Dragon is coming out for the 360 later this year, so I may have to dig deep into my wallet and purchase a 360.
Anyways, the Wii does take a new step forward into the gaming world. I just hope its not simply a gimmick. Motion sensory is awsome, but I myself can't imagine much other than fun mini games. Meh, I guess if I get a Wii I will change my mind.
