I am about to explode from excitement. I love having a PSP. I love it. I will show you why.

FINAL FANTASY TACTICS REMAKE. AFJKDLS;AFKJSDLAHGKDLS;AFJKSLA;

What I have always wanted. What everyone has always wanted. Now it is portable. With a new Job Class. Probably new dungeons. New bosses. A polished translation.

This rules so hard, I cannot even think of any words to describe it.

Now with decent translation? :D

Edit: Oooh, 200 posts.

Wow, that's cool. Maybe I'll actually be able to FIND it now. XD 'Course, finding the money to buy a PSP comes first. >_> Anyways, yeah, that's great!

But seriously...=[ I wish I could play this without buying a PSP. Because it's really the only game that interests me on the PSP right now...

It's set. I'm getting a PSP.

I'm not THAT excited because the Tactics series never did please me as much as the ones from the straightforward series.

Final Fantasy Tactics was also very challenging. I did beat the Tactics Advance one which was inferior, but I still wanna get this.

I was hoping this remake would be on a next-gen system and not have sprites.

Think how amazing an FFT game would be in PS3, Wii, or Xbox 360 graphics.

This will do for now.

Uematsu when he was interviewed about why he left Square to form Mistwalker wrote:When a company with ten employees grows to employ a thousand people, a lot of things change, of course. The most important thing then is making money. When Squaresoft employed ten to twenty people, the most important thing was to make something interesting and entertaining. All the people were following their ideas and their dreams or did what they thought was right. A company with a thousand employees can't be run on dreams anymore.

I thought this was an interesting quote that those of you who are disappointed in Square-Enix's recent performance would enjoy.

Let's just hope it really does have a comprehesible translation this time. But I don't have a PSP however...

Quoted for truth I say. Somehow, I feel that the magical feeling the older games had are missing in these newer ones.

I think the best four FF games were 7 through 10 in a random order. The old ones were great though, but after 10, it all seemed to go downhill.

That's because after X they stopped being made by Squaresoft and started being made by Square-Enix.

EDIT: By the way, I'd like to say that Nomura's character designs suck. Bring back Amano!

I am going to purchase a PSP now.

Lol I'm actually selling my psp on ebay as of now. I like Tactics as much as the next guy but I haven't touched my psp in 6 months. I'll deffinetly be getting a DS and I expect a Tactics title to come out for that eventually.

What does that have to do with anything? Unless you don't like Enix...

I loved Enix. I loved Squaresoft. But when they became Square-Enix their reign of suckitude began. They were like blueberry pancakes and lasagna...when they're apart, they're awesome, but put them together and they're horrible.

I agree with Kae.

Let's take a gaming company company that makes games that are great and stick to the true roots of classic NES RPGs, and another company that makes games that change every sequel and the changes always prove to be a beneficial breath of fresh air (FF8 bashers don't deserve to live).

Now we have to companies that are polar opposites, yet great alone, and when mixed together, it's nothing but a festering pile of dog snot.

Nomura is awesome dude, what are you talking about?

Tom Dincht wrote:Nomura is awesome dude, what are you talking about?

Between Tidus, the guy who wears half a pair of pants, and Vahn, the half-naked manboy, Nomura is horrible. Final Fantasy attire was always exotic, but never ridiculous. Nomura changed all that.

EDIT: Not to mention the horribly generic character designs for XII. Seriously, you could put Penelo behind the counter at a weapons shop and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between her and any other NPC.

But what games are you including in this "reign of suckitude?" I know you don't like Final Fantasy XII, but you need more than one or two games to justify something like that.

To be honest, I agree that Square-Enix doesn't seem to be as awesome as they were during the PS1 years. Still, it seems that SE has been "playing it safe" for awhile now and has been mainly concentrating of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts and whatever spinoffs of those titles that they could possibly come up with. Actually, if you ignore all of the remakes, the ports, the spinoffs, and the tri-Ace and Game Arts games; just how many original games or numbered installments in series has Square-Enix released in the past few years? I can't recall that many.

Square-Enix has released:

Final Fantasy X-2 (crap)
Radiata Stories (not horrible, but not particularly good)
Kingdom Hearts II (their second best game)
Dirge of Cerberus (below average at best)
Dragon Quest VIII (their best)
Final Fantasy XI (blah)
Final Fantasy XII (blah)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (crap)
Star Ocean 3 (horrendous)
Musashi: Samurai Legend (pretty bad)

Star Ocean 3 and Radiata Stories don't count in your list. They were tri-Ace games.

Can't comment on Final Fantasy XI, Musashi: Samurai Legend, and Dirge of Cerberus (although the latter did get mediocre reviews from what I remember).

I'll give you Final Fantasy: CC.

Final Fantasy X-2 wasn't as good as X, but I wouldn't call it terrible.

Between Tidus, the guy who wears half a pair of pants, and Vahn, the half-naked manboy, Nomura is horrible. Final Fantasy attire was always exotic, but never ridiculous. Nomura changed all that.

And with Amano, we get midgets, goths, and hippo-people...

: : folds arms defiantly : :

I, for one, like Nomura's weird character designs, except for Tidus and Vaan. Okay, the FFXII designs in general ARE kinda boring. But I like the designs for VII through X. And his work for Kingdom Hearts is the proverbial bomb diggity.

Eh, okay, sorry. I just went to wikipedia and looked at the list, so...those two were listed.

The Hippo people rocked.

Just to be specific, which games did Amano do?
