Anyone getting this? It looks awesome, but I'm unsure of the content.

I'm going to wait on a review, first.

I would say that the content would not be bad, however if you go online (especially, X-live 360 - headset) it's not a "friendly" environment. Nevertheless, single player should be just fine. ^^

Except that it's going to be incredibly boring.

Seriously, when you got a multiplayer option, single player is always boring. Starcraft, Diablo II, Phantasy Star Online, etc, even Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. They are so boring alone.

Only once you've played with other people. I know many people who are perfectly content to play WoW, an MMORPG, by themselves. I also know many people who ONLY played PSO offline... So it's really a matter of opinion.

In general, though, I'll agree with you. MP>SP.

Also, I have this game. I plan on getting online with it once I beat FF XII and possibly FFIII. As far as offline is concerned: my reactions where fairly positive. I have afew gripes about the PC controlls, but that is easily remedied with a PC controller.

If this thread is still around once I've had a chance to try online; I'll post some real info that might halp you out.

Thanks. I actually meant content such as magic, though.

In the Phantasy Star series, the closest thing to magic is "technics". Technics are used in for the same things magic is used for in any standard RPG: Healing, elemental damage, buffs, and debuffs.

As far as objectionable magic content, there's nothing like rituals or anything like that. It's your standard magic with a different name thrown on.

Basically if you don't find the magic content in Final Fantasy or Chrono trigger offensive, you shouldn't have any problems with PSU.

Played most of the offline game initially, but I've been playing online for about a week now. To be honest, I'm not terribly impressed with it. I do think the gameplay is better than PSO, but the amount of available content feels even more limited.

Honestly, I expected a lot more out of PSU. Given how long Sonic Team has been working on this game, it really lacks anything to make it stand out. The melee weapons lack variety, the TECHNICs are implemented rather poorly (and most of them aren't even usable yet), and Rangers ... get to mash a single button over and over. Yay?

PSO was decent for it's time, but today, it's age shows. PSU is just PSO with a slightly improved combat engine and a prettier skin.

one of my friends got on the beta on x-box 360 and by the time i hard about it it had been taken down, then when we were going up to is place to play it on the last day it was active then stupid microsoft decided to update live so we couldn't play, grrrr.

i'm so looking forward to getting this game when its released. tho i've heard alot of rumors saying that you cant ofline multiplayer with friends on the 1 console any more :( that was half the fun in the multiplayer of the last one.
