I own a PS2, a GB, Game Gear, and a GBA.

Ps2 and GBA are the only ones I ever use. Whenever I buy a new system I sell the old. I obtained systems in this order:

-GB
-NES
-Sega Genesis (got rid of NES for it)
-Game Gear
-PS1 (sold Genesis for it)
-PS2 (sold Ps1 for it)
-GBA

i am jealous of you all..... my parents don't let me have a game system, because they think i will get addicted to it.

My family didn't have a system for about seven or eight years. We had an Atari for a while, but once we got rid of it, we didn't have anything to game on until I bought a PS the year the PS2 came out.

I've got an NES, N64, Gameboy Advance SP, Gamecube, and PS2 (please note that I bought most of these myself, haha). If I were you, I'd ask your parents to give you time limits on your gaming time. Knowing that you want an alotted amount of time per day to play your games should let them know that you don't want to be addicted, and you're willing to be responsible with the time given to you. Ask for about an hour a day, and only play for that hour. If you keep your word on that, they may decide to give you two hours, three hours, and they'll begin to trust you more as long as you're responsible.

Pure PC gamer myself. Closest console to that list that I do own is PS, and only because it was part of a package deal from an auction that also involved a managed switch. Never played it.

Well...I have/had:

  • The original Nintendo...(I'm talkin' "blow the cart to get it to work" Nintendo)
  • Super Nintendo (With the battery gobbling Super Scope 6)
  • Sega Genesis (The only exposure I've ever had to Sonic the Hedgehog)
  • Nintendo 64 (with Hey You, Pikachu, which I love to play!)
  • ORIGINAL (Original, I say!) Playstation! (Horizontal, gunmetal grey, no shaking controllers here!)

    That's it!

I've had my share of game consoles in my life, but I wonder how good a sampling this poll will be. I'm not sure about the CAA population at large, but I'm betting the vast majority of CAAers that come into this forum have some kind of console.

I think it might help to at least identify regular gamers from the non-gamers. I'm strictly a non-gamer so eh.....I don't even know whether it's appropriate for me to vote. But as you can imagine, I don't have a single game console.

Addicted to a game, you say?

*recalls when he beat Tales of Symphonia in about a week*

At the moment I have GC, DS, and emulators on my computer. Planning to get Wii on release.

Well, eventually, I did buy a analog control with dual shock...but yep. For the better part of two years, I used the regular analog controller. You young whipper snappers wouldn't know anything about that, though!

I gave away my PS2... I do own game systems, though. I own an NES and an SNES... And a Dreamcast, which is technically in the same generation as PS2, X-box, and Gamecube.

PC gamer is politically correct talk for "Pure EVIL", heh... The kinds of games that get released on PC are very limited... The only ones that make it are FPS, RTS, MMORPGs, and sims... Oh, and those horrid american RPGs... Because looting caves for money with your conan-esque warrior or the bimbo amazoness is SO much better than games with love stories, environments and monsters NOT ALL based on Tolkien, and a quirky sense of humor... The only games I'd be interested in getting on PC are games that were released on console first... That, and emulation... Of consoles... because the good games have been on console since the FPS and the RTS took over the PC gaming arena...

PC hands down is the choice for FPS and flight sims!

I have a PS2, PSP, GC, Xbox, Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, and the old-school NES. I would have a GBA SP, but someone broke into my car and stole it a couple years ago, along with a lot of other things...

I used to be crazy about PC games! Unfortunately, my PC is fairly old (It's still running on a P2), so any gaming on that is strictly impossible. I'd get a couple of FPSs for it, if it were capable of more.

For the record, I refuse to buy an Xbox 360 for a couple of valid reasons:

1) most of the games for that system aren't even worth playing to me, let alone buying... Besides, I'm becoming rather annoyed with all these reviewers giving positive reviews to EVERY 360 game that comes out of production and me, after playing their demo, being extremely disappointed with it.

2) I'm waiting to compare it to the PS3 and the Wii. As it stands, there is absolutely no competition for next-gen systems and until there is, the battle will always be one-sided with the 360 coming up as the winner in the graphics department.

I also have a rule about new consoles (the only one I ignored it for was the PSP): I wait until there are at least 5 games that look so good that I want to buy them, then I'll buy the system. That, at least, gives the system time to drop in price. :thumb:

Anyway... as far as the new console launch goes, I'm gonna play it smart and wait to see who really comes up as the winner... then, I'll buy the one that I want.

And that's it... Actually, even on FPS games, I prefer controller to mouse and keyboard... And for flight sims, I'd prefer joystick and throttle etc...
