Has anyone played the Zork games? I have recently developed an interest in playing them, however, I'm afraid I know very little about them...at all. But I am always willing to try a humor game, no matter how little know about it. And I've heard nothing but good things...
(Not to mention I can get Zork: Grand Inquisitor for ten bucks ON MAC) XD

Can anyone give me some information? Are they worth getting? Am I babbling?

Those were some fun games. I think the first and maybe the second were actually released for free a while back.

They're pretty fun games, but the graphics really depend on the user.

Free, huh? Thanks, I'll have to check that out.

Eh, graphics don't mean a lot to me.

For the record, Zork I, Zork II and Zork III were all released for free and legal download a while back by Activision to help promote the release of Zork: Nemesis and Zork Grand Inquisitor, HOWEVER, this was for a limited time only and -- contrary to many websites offering "legal" downloads of all three games -- it has since been made clear by Activision that the redistribution or download of any of the games for free is now 100% illegal.

Oh, shoot. And I've simply no idea where to find those, too. Hmm, does anyone know if Zork: Grand Inquisitor's plot would still make sense if I bypassed the first few games?

I've played Zork III, it was pretty awesome.

If by "depend on the user" you mean "since there are no graphics you have to draw your own pictures so if your art skills really suck then the graphics are bad," then yes.
